Listen dude..I have been reading the posts on this site for a long time and your post has prompted me to join, I am annoyed about this, this is serious.
I am highly familiar with the weird & wonderful world of the supernatural, so read carefully.
An ouija board is NOT a game board or an item of fun, it is a TOOL, like most tools you have to gather skills to master them.
The chances of any thing not happening is quite high, most dabblers will have a go or two & then consign the board to the back of the wardrobe.
The chances of contacting the dead are very very slim if none at all, but you have more chance of picking up a negative entity who latch on to these things like iron to a magnet....& trust me, if you channel one of those & you don't have the skills or knowledge to deal with it your parade will seriously be rained on.
An Ouija board is like a game of chicken & only the dumb play that game.
You come across as someone who wont stop till you get hit..don't bother my friend, please.

Again, I'm going to say something:

Unless you are either a shaman, mystic, medium, priest or any other kind of Holy person or spiritualist DO NOT MEDDLE WITH THE OCCULT!

Once a door is open there is no guarantee of what may come through. And remember that doors work both ways. There's no saying what may come to us and what may go back with them.

DO NOT buy it and DO NOT use it. It opens a door into things that you have no control over. Dangerous dark things. Don't do it.

www.temple.edu...

Years ago I went to a lecture given by Ed and Lorraine Warren. (he just recentlly died). They said that ouija boards are dangerous and NEVER to use them. They said that many time when they investigated something evil happening in a house, it started with a ouija game by the kids.

Don't do it!

The Ouija board has been around for more than a century and talking boards preceded the Ouija board by some fifty years. It would seem to me that if there were a door to be opened, it would have been opened long ago.

Sorry, but you cant just group magic in one lump...the prophets were magicians...Moses number 1 magician.

Again, to label it all is to distance yourself from a useful tool...but all the best, you have what you need when you need it.

I'm still intrigued noone made reference to my previous post.

The point in question was a groupd of students were told the story of a woman 'Jane' who had killed herself in a creepy house. The did the Ouija board and contacted her, her descriptions matched those which they had been told previously. At the end of the show Jane was brought out, proving it is the player who pushes the glass subconsciously.

I say play all you want and have a good time.

Evil is as evil does :p

Oujia boards are nothing more than subconscienous movement.

try this:

blindfold every participant so there is no way they can see the board... guess what? it wont work anymore.... nothing but gibberish will come out

Why not give it a try ?

I've done it in the past and managed to get pretty scared in the process. Not sure whether there's anything in it .... just depends who you are with and whether you can trust them not to fake it.

My mum got really scared one New Year at a party with some friends. Her dead cousin 'came through' and said some pretty nasty things. She can't beleive that anyone would have faked it as it was so upsetting AND they didnt know her enough to know her cousins name and how he died (and how young he was).

I don't think it's that dangerous in itself but I'd do it sober and without drugs just in case.

Cheers !

I don't deny that people may become scared or maybe even permanently damaged by some negative experience - if perhaps they have some kind of mental illness, depression or something, but you take yourself way too seriously.
What skills do you need ?
I'm not having a go at you but how do you develop these skills without trying it ?

T'aint nowt to it.

Look these things have been in use for years and not every user an expert.
So at some stage on probability you would expected something big and nasty reported some time in recorded history. I have not heard of anything perhaps the all powerful evil doers hushed it up

The warnings about inexperienced users opening gates to hell etc (yawn) is just scaremongering and self belief in their own empowerment by self styled experts. Its just to keep the plebes in their place so to speak (make some delusional believer believe they are possessed it could be quite profitable for those that cure him:up
.

With all these so called gates to another world with demons (ha ha) etc waiting to get in the world should be inundated by now but I see no demons living in my neighbourhood. Mind you George W Bush ...perhaps it is.

The demons people are all in your mind, think evil, create evil I say.

The Yanks have sold 'em for years as kids toys, are you saying all Yank kids are possessed by evil Demons?

The only time I saw a glass move with spirit about was when it was filled with Scotch in a Scotsman's hand.

Yet again I would like to thank the paranormal forum for giving me a good laugh.

The ouija board is truely a gift from heaven you will only ever have positive enlightening experiences.
The people who advise against it are ussually brainwashed by the church or have watched 1 horror movie to many.

It will truely open your eyes to the wonders of the universe.

Don't mean to sound too rude, but i do believe you are the one that said UFOs can't exist, because they would have contacted somebody smart like Stephen Hawking or George Bush. Well, from what i've seen George isn't the brightest.

Please people, do not listen to this person. While, if you are an expert with a ouija board, you might be able to control what you bring out, if you don't have much experience, just be VERY careful.

If you truly want enlightenment, meditation is the way to go. I'm not saying i'm 100% correct on this sentence, but from what i've learned, to talk to beings of light you use meditation and telepathy, but to contact the darker ones definately a ouija board will do that for you.

Although this may seem like a child's toy, I urge everyone to use caution with these, as they can be dangerous if used incorrectly.

Peace, love, and light.

if somebody seriously wants to get into ouija boards, I suggest reading a lot about them first, or finding somebody you know that does have experience with them.

It's kinda like Russian Roullette. Yeah, a few times nothing may happen, but keep pushing your luck and you may get a big surprise.

If you're going to mess with the ouija board I hope you know a good exorcist.
Is it worth it? No!

Hey, its your decision, but man, I advise against it. There are evil forces in this world, and you're messing with something much more powerful than you, somehting you cannot even comprehend. Once you open yourself up to the spiritual realm, you're a sititng duck for anything that wants to screw with you.

you people are soo pathetic about this game....this # has been disproven already...try playing it blindfolded and you will know that the planchette wont point to a letter or the words...LOL.. here is where i also saw it from and it came out on that show Bullsh%t!

"The accepted theory is that the participants are subconsciously making small, involuntary, physical movements using a well-known, and well-understood, phenomenon called the Ideomotor effect. Experiments consistently suggest that, at best, the messages are received involuntarily from the participants themselves, and, at worst, by a manipulative player, possibly with the connivance of confederates within the group present."

"Skeptic and magician James Randi, in his book An Encyclopedia of Claims, Frauds, and Hoaxes of the Occult and Supernatural, points out that when blindfolded, Ouija board operators are unable to produce intelligible messages. Magicians Penn & Teller performed a similar demonstration in an episode of their television show Bullsh&t! in which the operators moved the planchette into what they thought was the positions of "yes" and "no" without knowing that the board was turned upside-down, which caused them to moved the planchette into blank spaces on the board."

If ouija boards are really that dangerous, shouldn't Parker Brothers put some sort of warning on it? Its for ages 8 and up.

Then people may think they are dangerous if they thought their not and fake and not buy them though
