Love him or hate him, Chavez is very intelligent in the way he is conducting his foreign policy. He is highly thought of in the UK parliament, by many cross party politicans.

His private visit to the UK went down extremely well, and the UK parliament supported the idea of continuing to work with Venezuela and helping to combat drugs with them. Plus, the UK is not against the idea of Venezuela being elected for a non-permanent Security Council seat.
