Ah, the lovely and talented Ann Coulter...(retches into trashcan)

With that out of the way it seems that all she does in the link is her usual smear routine, which has such a simple formula that anybody can become just like her

Liberals + (insert derrogatory comment)
Right Wingers + (insert laud and praise)

All she does is further drive the spike into the political divide of the country, thus shes useless and counter-productive. To illusrate her lack of uesfullness I offer the following quotes.

Um yeah, thats quality and meaningful right there: advocating the deaths of americans (something she likes to accuse liberals of) and suggesting invasion and conversion of other countries.

Whether Ann is hot or not is a matter of opinion, and irrelevant.

People hate her because she pulls no punches in her description of liberals and Islamo-facsists. They do things by throwing pies at her as they run past her. It's a good thing they don't stop and throw them - she'd probably kick their butts!

And one other thing, an objection that usually comes from the female half of the board... "Oooooooooooooooo.... she so skeeny!"

Anytime Ann comes up the thread goes off course. How could it not?

Mike Moore is at least respectful in everything I have seen him in. Maur is funny...thats what I call him.

You can have an opposing viewpoint and not be a condescending bitch. No one told Anne however. She attacks personally because apparantly her "holier than thou" attitude needn't be defended otherwise. To those of us who oppose her viewpoint its like arguing with a teenager. She doesn't disagree so much as she just insults.

Well, I see her as hateful, lying and extremely one-sided. I agree, she just pushes divisiveness in America. She has nothing intelligent to say in her articles except mindless bashing of anyone or anything she hates, which is/are alot of people and institutions. As I've written elsewhere, she actually thought that Canada had fought with America in the Vietnam War...hmm, I'm sure all those Vietnam War dissenters who found safety in Canada would like to know about that. That's just plain stupid and when the interviewer corrected her, she still insisted about 3 times that she was right. Arrogance, hubris, blind, untruthful and hateful; these are not good qualities in anyone, let alone a political commentator. She's not real bright and she spews her bile every time she comments on something. She is a female (?) Rush Limbaugh.

And finally, she is that rarest of all creatures, a woman who is a misogynist.

I always like to see what ann coulter has to say. She is abrasive yes but she is dead on about the left in the US.

Not to go too far off-thread here, but this need a response.

I think Michael Moore is something of an oaf, too, but this statement is unfair and untrue.

Moore met with Charlton Heston by appointment and dealt with him very respectfully. (Michael Moore is a lifetime member of the NRA, don't forget.) He didn't blame Heston for anything. He asked Heston if he had any theories as to why the US has such a high gun-murder rate, when other countries with similar or higher per-capita gun ownership had much, much lower rates. It's a good question -- it's a fascinating question actually.

For some weird reason, Heston took the question personally and terminated the interview. Moore left the Heston compound puzzled and frustrated, and shouted some additional questions -- rhetorical questions -- into the air. I suspect this was mostly for the benefit of the movie he was making.

Michael Moore might be a lot of unseemly things, but a knee-jerk anti-gun advocate he is not. His movie, Bowling for Columbine, isn't an attack on gun ownership. It is an examination of America's propensity for violence, more of a philosophical treatise than anything else. See it if you don't believe me.

I used to get all upset and bothered over Ann Coulter's inflammatory rhetoric, also. I'd see her on TV spotting all manner of cretinous vitriol and be shocked, shocked at how one person could contain so much hate (and still get booked on television).

Then it occurred to me that Ann Coulter is really nothing more than a comedian. A really bad comedian, to be sure, but basically just an entertainer with her own little brand of schtick. She doesn't really say anything crazier than what Hunter S. Thompson used to say, e.g. . calling for violence to be inflicted on various presidents or other political figures, etc.. I adored Thompson (still do,) and it would be hypocritical of me not to allow the right-wing to have their own version.

So I don't let her bother me. I pretty much ignore her, even to the point of skipping programs I like when I know she's going to be on. I figured her time will pass, probably sooner than later, and she'll wind up as some minor footnote in the annals of political humor.

One thing I will grant you though: appearance-wise, she is loathsome. Scary-looking, actually. A cross between a Harpy and a heroin addict. One can only imagine that her seemingly endless supply of hate springs from her inmate unloveliness. As the old saying goes, "beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes right to the bone."

But hey, that's just me. I think Janine Garafolo is cute.
