History..?

If there are people who can contact ancient spirits/ghosts of people, how come they don't provide indepth histories of the world. I'm sure their depiction would be greater than the books.

Or maybe they don't have a big enough story to be history. Or maybe they just didn't know about anything that happened.

But at least maybe there would've been something extradinary heard already.. :\
