Simple answer is no.

In fact a proposal was made to establish a Jewish homeland in Uganda in the early twentieth century but this was ultimately rejected by Zionist organisations, even as a temporary measure.
The Uganda proposal

The assumption that the problem goes away if Israel was sited somewhere else ignores the fact that the Zionists regard the physical land we know as Israel, and arguably much more besides, to have been promised to the Jews by their God and if they don't have it they are ultimately going to fight whoever does.

As a slight aside, and in reply to a couple of posters above, Jerusalem was orginally proposed as an international zone by the UN when Israel was established and no matter how bright an idea this sounds in theory that didn't work either.

Nope...the arabs have been finding reasons to kill each other for thousands of years. This wouldn't stop the wars and rampant hostility, it would only have changed targets.

Moving Israel? Where to? Someone, somewhere, would have issues with the "dirty evil" Jews. Nope...

It's kind of academic anyway: Israel exists now, and all deabtes about it's "right" to exist and where it should exist are as relevant as debates about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

Israel is a fact of life the Middle East is going to have to learn to live with: just like the Palestinians are a fact of life the Israelis are going to have to learn to live with.

The alternative is death, destruction, and mushroom clouds sprouting up like dandelions all over the neighborhood.

As much as we bump heads and disagree on topics, I must agree totally with your statement.

The bigger question is can both sides learn to live in "peace" with each other rather than in "pieces". This peace process is one where both must want to dance and dance with each other first before dancing with others.

The same can be said about almost every part of the world. No reason to single them out with this special distinction. Every continent is pretty skilled in this regard, cept for Antarctica I guess. Gotta watch those penguins though, they are sneaky.

The Middle East is a mess and always will be because of it's strategic importance to us greedy Westerners.

Sad but true.

I hear people say that the west set Israel up there because of "guilt". Puh Leaz. It was for strategic purposes.
