Iran-Middle East-Israel
Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hamid-Reza Asefi, said on Sunday that the Zionist regime is the main cause of tension and crisis in the Middle East.
The foreign ministry spokesman made the remark while talking to domestic and foreign reporters in his weekly briefing session.
On Lebanon-Israel conflict and violation of cease-fire by the Zionist regime, he said that it proved that it is not interested in ease of tension
relieving conflict and war.
He referred to the US approach to the Middle East as 'despotic' and noted that it mainly accounts for continuation of crisis in the region.
Asefi pointed to Lebanese resistance movement as 'legitimate' and said that legitimacy of campaign against occupation is in line with the
international law.
Stating the the Zionist regime does not respect the international law and it disregards the world public opinion, as it was evident by its violation
of cease-fire, he said, "They proved that kidnapping is the characteristic of the Israeli occupiers," a reference to kidnapping members of
Palestinian parliament and government who are still in custody.
Israel kidnapped Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister Nasser Shaer from his home in Ramallah in the West Bank on August 19.
