Hey guys i just got photoshop

Been a while since i posted on here but im missin it.... sooo yea i just got photoshop elements 4.0 and i was messin around cant get the hang of the layer thing but i think i might have it now. but anyways (any tips would be apprecieated(cant spell)) but yea i made up a quick image for a sports site and i was wondering if it is at all any good.?? heres a link to it

and i was wondering what u all thought.. now i no just cause im new i might get some pity but i want honsty i no its not that great compared to some other photoshop pics out there but im trieing and seeing what u all think thnx for the imput ill try to put some more work up... it might be all sports for now ill try some otehrs later THNX

Probably the best thing that you can do, is do a GOOGLE search for "Photoshop Tutorials" There are many sites that offer them. Some free, others cost a little bit.

I am just getting the basics myself, otherwise I would lend a little assistance. Photoshop is definitely not one of the easiest programs to learn and master. So much so, that I actually use it very little. Perhaps one day I will dig in and really try to learn it, as it has much more potential that the other programs that I use.

Bit torrents detroy computers, leave viruses and can lead to identity theft. Dont use them. They will ruin your pc experience.... bit torrents are bad!

well in all honesty other then the fact that it has a bit of lighting effects to it from using the different effect functions PS has it looks like it could have been made with MS Paint.
try finding some good fonts to use with PS and brushes i have probebaly 300 fonts and a good 500 sets of brushes. next time you paste a picture like that football player cut the football player out of the image (increase the size of the image and use the loop tool)then paste it.

my wife used to waist away night and day playing with photoshop and taught herself everything and now has her own online graphics buisness so dont get discouraged the program can be pretty complicated but once you get it down you realy can do alot and have also achieved alot by doing it.

I adore photoshop, and along with Twisted brush, there is almost nothing that cannot be achieved.

kudos for your wifes success in her business any self taught person actually in my opinion would of spent alot more time playing around and finding out novel stuff over the class taught person.

awsome guys thnx alot.. i found problems though ima go through and probably finmd the answer in tuts. but i fidn that after i put the pic in the final over all product liek the pic of ronnie ( the football player) in the sunset thing and i decide i want to use like a edge glow or blur effect i cant with out going to the undo option to before i put the pic in. so i was wondering is there was a way i could mess around with the pic after i did that... iono thnx fo rthe feed back that was off of 2 hours of messin around no tutorials or reading anything just clicking and praying. but yea... thxn guys ill post another pic i make after i read tutorials



PS: actually my sister got the CD and Key frm a friend so we didnt have to pay it. good thing is that they arnt that good friends anymore they dont even talk to i think were gonna keep it for a while


EDIT: wow stupid question i went through my tool bar on the left side and couldnt find teh loop am i missin it cause i have been looking for it every since it would help me greatly thnx
