Aug 22, it was nice knowing you all

I have been a regular visitor to ATS for 3 years now. it began with a simple search on google about 9/11 . i thought the whole ordeal was bogus and that search led me to ats.

since the world is going to end on 8/22/06 id just like to take this time to say goodbye to all of you. ive enjoyed reading the threads on ats and ive enjoyed hearing what all of you highly intelligent people have to say. GOODBYE MY FRIENDS!


actually, i dont believe the world will end august 22, but this date has taken on a life unlike any other doomsday prediction ive seen here. so considering there is a .00001% chance the world could end on that day, ive decided to take the opportunity to tell you all i enjoyed your company. peace

I am fairly sure that the world will not end on the 22nd.

That said, if it does, let me say that I don't feel like I read or post.
I feel like I AM a member of this passionate/diverse group of people.

Some I agree with completly, some I could not disagree more with if I tried.

But I would not trade my time here for anything in the world.

And thanks for one thread on BTS I read a while ago, something along the lines of if WWII had been an online game--that was just about enough to make the end of the world worth it in itself.

In a sick, demented way, I hope the world does end the 22nd; that way we don't have to put up with anymore "OMG!!! TEh worlds gonna end on XX, 20XX!!!!" threads. What different dates have been settled on so far this year that have already passed with little fanfare? I want to say so far every month since May has had a doomsday date in it, and quite frankly the doomcriers are gonna loose a lot of respect with me if I see something like "September 25th, and this time we mean it."
