Prison Rape!! Where is the outrage??

i don't care for bizzaro cultures, be they drugs, drunks, crime, gangs, or prison related.

one way to improve the system, would be to place first time offenders in their own prison.

career criminals would have their prison, lifers sent to a way remote island.

you get caught abusing other prisoners, you move up a notch, to a more restrictive environment.

that way the psychopaths and career criminals would be kept separate from 1st time offenders, and their bizzaro culture kept out of 1st time offender prison.

rehab programs, drugs related or work training for 1st time offenders, not career criminals.

the criminally insane cannot be rehabilitated, you either hang them as society's rejects or exile them to a one way prison.

Simple fact is we all know rape happens in prisions and its accepted as part of the reality of prision life. It happens to men and women.There is no way to stop it. These people cant get their jollies regularly anymore so they start to use each other. It may be sad but its reality. The most we could do for inmates is provide condoms to stop the spread of STDs. All of this outcry about what if it was your family is pointless. Its going to happen whether we like it or not. Get over it.

Although I will say it is completely unethical, if people didn't commit crime in the first place they will never be in the position to be (prison) raped. Anyhow 'prison rape' seems to be a predominantly American theme, likely due to the lengthy sentences you give.

With Vast amounts of innocent people, or people put in for petty ass crimes, in that system, I can only hope you don't find yourself in jail for no reason getting raped and wondering how could this happen to me? Acting like everyone who ever committed any crime at all deserves to be raped is an Evil view point. It is ridiculous.

I have just found out that my friend is in prison for rape.

I can think of better things to do in prison.

Didn't take much for you to show you know little on the subject. You almost sound like a caveman the way you start your post off.

Prison rape is not a predominantly American theme. It's very common in Mexican, Latin American, South American, African, and Russian and Eastern European prisons, and is an utterly atrocious and embarrassing rule of law which prison gangs run prisons through, which guards and wardens look the other way and ignore, judges and attorney accept as a reality of prison life, and society at large who thinks anyone convicted of any crime, no matter what, should just be locked up and have the key thrown away.

The crime committed often has no relation to whether rape is deserving.
