80% of Brits say "ditch US in terror war"

80% of the British want to leave this war on terror? Why? Because theyre unpatriotic? Because they work for Al Queda? No, because they know the war on terrorism is bogus.

The telegraph went and spinned it so it made it look like the people still wanted to combat terrorism, just not with America. Haha, yae right. Why would they want to ditch their ally, America, in the war on terror all of a sudden, and go and do it solo? Doesnt make sense. What makes more sense is the Telegraph spun it. The people do not support the war on terror.

This latest terror scare with planes just sent the message home even deeper: this isnt a war on terrorism, this is a war against the people. The government is right, the terrorists do hate our freedoms, They did attack us because they want to destroy our liberties. Its just the terrorists are the ones carrying out the attacks, black ops squads working for intelligence agencies on behalf of the globalists who run this country. Get it straight.

People are sick of this, and rightly so. We want an end to this garbage. We cant bring baby milk onto planes because it could be mixed with other things to create an explosive, then they go and mix all the liquids not allowed into a garbage bin....."cant have liquids because it could be mixed, so we will mix them in this garbage can"...ridiculous. When did the "home of the brave" become "the land of the afraid?"

At least the Brits are waking up. Time for Americans to wake up to, and take back their governments.

They are not waking up AT ALL.

A majority also wants tougher domestic legislation that would allow police more time to detain suspects while they investigate complex terrorism plots.

Some 69 per cent said that the police should be able to hold suspects for up to 90 days without charge, rather than be bound by the current 28-day limit.

The poll findings will encourage John Reid, the Home Secretary, who has warned the British public that they will have to forgo many of the freedoms and liberties they have grown used to in order to ensure the maximum level of security.

Seventy three per cent agreed that "the West is in a global war against Islamic terrorists who threaten our way of life

When asked whether Britain should change its foreign policy in response to terrorism only 12 per cent said it should be more conciliatory, compared with 53 per cent who thought it should become more "aggressive" and 24 per who wanted no change.

Some 60 per cent of people thought the war on terrorism would continue for at least 10 years, with 44 per cent of these thinking it would still be going on in 20 years' time.

People of England aren't waking up. They want to give up their liberties. Sarkozy, the next France president, is a fascist like Blair and will push further the racism towards muslims and security mesures...

We are heading police state, people want it. How it is a change?

They spun it. I changed my original post to include that point. Look at the actual poll and see what it says.

After reading the article, I feel a little less excited about the 80% statistic.

It seems most British citizens are still falling for the tricks, the support for 90days without charge, for example.

I don't wanna be held for 90 days under the whim of a beurocrat or a Police Officer looking for promotion.

We're already the most monitored nation on the planet, I certainly don't wanna let this government take away any more of my liberties, especially not because Mr Blair simply doesn't want to lose face. That man needs to learn to recognise his mistakes.

If that's true, then this American says ditch Britain. The brits have far more to lose over a loss of relations between the two nations. To quote my favorite president, "You are either with us or against us."

id love to stop supporting the US in everything so blindly and stop this stupid "war on terror" but blair will follow bush into anything nowadays.

Sorry but why is anyone even listening to this? These polls do NOT represent the whole of the country, so since when has it been right and accurate to say that 80% of the UK feels this way? Does it actually say how many people were questioned?

I know i was'nt asked! So thats that poll inaccurate for a start!

As for comments to ditch Britain on the basis of such a poll......i have to admit to be a little suprised at that. Everyone has thier own opinions though i guess.

If you're referring to my post, I'm not suggesting that any action be based on a poll, but if 80% of British citizens are in favor of "ditching" the US in the war on terror, then my sentiment is, "Do it now!"

That poll and its results are a load of hogwash and the papers know it. Why? The people of the UK want to fight terrorism, but if you stand up and say so you are howled down as being islamaphobic and racist.

Protest however is against our goverment, but seeing as its now illegal to protest within 1000 yards of westminster, the goverment sits in its little ring of steel bubble and ignores us all. Yes alot of people where against the Iraq war - not because it fought terror, but because it was based on a LIE. Had there been a real threat then the voice of dissent would of been small indeed.

The war was not based on truth and justice - It was based on Oil and Lies.

Well I am more then positive that mister Blair will soon arrange a New "Terrible Terror Attack" or at least another so-called "Terror Drill" to further convince his Minions into beliving with all their Heart and Soul into the alleged War on Terror.

After all, he must not Dissapoint his Lover.

80% of Brits say "ditch US in terror war"; London Telegraph

I would like to see the number of people they Interviewd first of all, for them to say 80% of the UK Population wants to "ditch the US in War on terror", The article does not show you at all how many were asked questions, so yes its the Telegraph is spinnin this. Probably to try and increase its readers....

People of England aren't waking up.

Ums when did England become the UK????? There a 3 other countries in the UK geez..... And I would dispute your quote, alot are going along with the Gov on tighnen up security, but also alot are wakenin up with regards to this so called war on terror.

Well your country has used the UK all the time. If we are gonna ditch the USA about time too.... If you think we have more to loose "get your head out of the sand"... We will just go with our european partners and just ignore your country.

Double standards, Your Aministration did not help the UK out when we were being attacked by the IRA. Double Standards!!!!!!!!

Do it now!

Is there not rules against one line posts??????

Yeah we will do it, (hopefully soon). We will see how long before you are asking us to use our Airports again to take Bombs to Israel.

If one line says it, then what line is all I use. I get fined from time to time, but verbosity is a far worse crime in my book.

If the British choose to abandon their strongest ally then so be it. I've always considered the British to be our friends, at least since the first world war. My ancestors are British, Scot to be precise, Scotch-Irish to be more precise. I'll leave the Norwegians out of it for now.

We need Britain as an ally, but if they choose to take the route of the French, then that is their choice. We will simply have to make other arrangements.

That's seriously funny
. The sad thing is, it's also true.

The reason 80% of Brits (allegedly) wants to ditch the US is that they sadly think that if they just go along with the misguided theory of "all we have to do is change our foreign policy, leave Iraq alone, we don't want our soldiers getting killed over there anyway, and all that stuff then the Muslims will be happy, and hey presto no more terror".

Except it wouldn't be like that, and the US knows it; the fact is that even if we (the West) gave in to the Muslims demands right now there would be a whole new set of demands by next week. Example; giving them back Andalucia (part of Spain).

Nope, the war on terror has to be fought, and as a Brit I think it's great that the US is taking the lead.

Polls are bull# don't believe in those numbers.

I am highly in doubt that Brits will ditch anything, soon we fly naked - I tell you.

Yeah Grady, I like that quote very much "you are either with us or with the terrorists" is even better!

There is no 'massive' oil supplies for them in Ireland or the U.K.

I don't share the views of 'The Project for the new american Century' so I guess the U.S should do it on there own.
