Top 10 Heavy Metal Bands!(What's yours?)

Can we make this a top 20 thing? I like a plethora of metal bands.

JSquared, that's an old list. But some of the same bands are still on my top 10. I'll make a new one eventually.


I bet you've never even heard of Sodom(which would make me laugh entirely), and the comment about Dave Mustaine is crap. Metallica stole riffs from him ,and they are far from a great band. Megadeth have always been superior in skills, writing, and all around musical ability. So in fact, METALLICA would have been nothing without Dave Mustaine. They used him to make Kill 'Em All, and if it weren't for Dave Mustaine, that album would never have even existed. You can call him a horrible singer, and I can say Between The Buried And Me are generic.


You still avoided answering some of the things I said, that's cool. You can choose to do that, and it further proves my point.

What do you want me to do? List underground bands that I like that YOU'VE never heard of?

It's pretty much pointless to name the true underground ones, because you'll never even look them up....I won't turn this into a pissing contest, even though that's what you want to do...

Look man, I know you think that I just want to fight with you, and normally you would be right..but that's not what I'm doing at all.


Either way, you're into more tech-core stuff, and less Metal. That's fine dude, I won't knock you for that, and it doesn't make you any less of a person. It's not like it has an effect on my life anyway.

Part of my point is that YOU don't get to define what Metal is, and neither do I. Metal defines itself, our opinions don't define Metal. You seem to be misinformed. The only band on my OLD list that you even recognize is Megadeth, or so you implied.

When people try to splice hardcore with death metal and that noise..it doesn't work out, and it basically just turns into all out mallcore. I don't want to fight with you. I'm not expressing my opinion, I'm expressing facts. My opinion is that I don't like the bands that you like, and your opinion is that you don't like the bands that I like.


Neither of us however, gets to decide what Metal is. Metal is defined, and the bands you like aren't true Metal. You CAN like them. I like ALL kinds of Metal, and I know enough to know that you're not stupid, but misinformed. Look, I respect you, really. I do. I just know the facts. Whether or not you like a band or not is an opinion, what a band falls under IS NOT an opinion...

Exodus are Thrash Metal. I could call them Classic Rock all I want, but that wouldn't be right because they're NOT. They're Thrash Metal. Get my point?

I listed neither yet given the track record Megadave crushes Metallica as far as I'm concerned. Metallica haven't made a metal album since what.... 92' (not that I thought it was a "good" metal album)? "The System Has Failed" is the best thing Megadeth has done since "Rust in Peace" so at least Dave is still capable of writing good metal. Of course this is all just my opinion.
