Three Mexican fishermen found drifting in the Pacific Ocean could have been lost for almost a year and two others were missing and presumed dead, the manager of a fishing company that rescued them said on Wednesday...

...they were found by a Taiwanese tuna fishing trawler in waters between the Marshall Islands and Kiribati on August 9.

...it appeared the three men had survived on rain water, sea birds and fish they had been able to catch as they drifted in their 25-foot-long (8 meter) fibreglass boat.

The trawler which rescued the men was not expected to dock in the Marshalls for up to two weeks.

Absolutely amazing! I can't imagine what that must have been like to be out that long living off of birds, rainwater, and fish. What makes me curious though, is how in the world they survived around storms and the sun. Wouldn't they have been completely burnt by then?

You stick this marshmallow skinned niteboy in the sun for 4 hours and I'm roasted, I could not imagine 11 months.

I don't believe this is possible. I saw a story about a family that lost their boat to attacking orcas and were stranded out on a small raft at sea for just like one month and they just barely survived on these techniques and were rescued just in time. I can't imagine people could survive out there for 11 months.
