The photo was taken by United States Air Force Tech. Sgt. Russell E. Cooley IV on May 16, 2006 while over the Atlantic Ocean near Charleston AFB, South Carolina. The massive USAF C-17 Globemaster III released the flares and flew off, leaving the flares' smoke to highlight the wingtip vortices.

EDIT: actually minor change of plan, after all that work putting it up ive changed my mind, im gonna stick with mace windu.
