Just read on CNN that the IDF are reporting Katyusha rockets landing in S. Lebanon....Is this Hezbollah keeping to their word about attacking IDF forces still in Lebanon...I just hope this isn't the end of the cease-fire already.

Israeli military says 10 Katyusha rockets land in southern Lebanon but none hit Israel.

UPDATE:- [edit on 14-8-2006 by HappySmoker]

About 10 rockets were fired inside southern Lebanon late Monday, the Israeli military said early Tuesday. The Israel Defense Forces initially said the weapons were Katyushas -- which are commonly used by Hezbollah -- but have since stepped back from that.

Hmmmm....excuse me whilst I don the tinfoil trilby here....IDF forces control the area up to the Litani river 'buffer zone' but still need more time to complete the offensive against hezb'allah, so they appropriate a Katyusha launcher and fire a salvo just short of Israel and make it look like Hez. has broken the ceasefire in order to continue the offensive.....sounds plausible after the show of underhand politicking with US hawks and ignorance of the UN to pursue the over-riding self-serving neo-con Israeli agenda

Taking into consideration that neither side knows how to keep their word I will not be surprised that the fights will keep on going.

Actually the ones to brake the truce were Israelis soldiers firing against hezbollah first.
after the cease fire.

Hezbollah, of course, was never actually bound by the UN ceasefire, not being part of the UN and not being [io]the lebanese government.

I think what they are doing is saying, 'good, they israelis are on their way out, lets not attack israel itself, but continue to keep up a limited offensive against their troops in lebanon. This will prevent them from responding in full, and give us an even bigger victory'.

Better yet how about adding something worthwhile to the topic instead of personal insults.

Didn't say you did, but that is obvious. What is also obvious is your disregard for other peoples opinions and giving them respect. You might find they would be more receptive to your side of the debate if you weren't so aggressive.

Just a thought.

I'm not "aggressive" toward you so don't worry about it.

You may not be, but you certainly seem like it. I was merely trying to help you avoid getting banned and contribute in a constructive way, if you choose to ignore me, then fine.

Anyhoo, back to the topic I suppose... I can't seem to find any mention of this on the MSM at the moment. Anyone have any more info?

Nothing new on reuters or yahoo news, still the original news item from the op.

You know, I would have sworn the topic of this thread was CNN - 10 Katyusha rockets land in southern Lebanon, not all this off-topic bickering.

So, either stick to the topic, or take a break from this thread.

Thats real original for someone who infers that they have so much ammo. The phrase is even older than the crust in your panties. And considering your first post on this thread you don't don't have much it that pea of yours to fire at me anyway.

Up to 10 rockets were also fired southwards on Monday night and early Tuesday morning but did not cross the Israeli border, the Israeli army said. No-one was injured and Israel planned no response, military sources added.

news.bbc.co.uk...

This is the info given on BBC, the IDF said the rockets didnt harm or kill anyone.
I think it was just a flex of muscle, showing Israel if you do break the cease fire we will and can attack.

now back to our regularly schedualed debate

i find it curious how the leap is made that it MUST be the israies fireing the rockets themselves. now it is actualy possible that the mosad fired the rockes. it also possible that the cia or cisis fired them. it is also just as likely that hezbolla fired them.
any of the afore mentioned parties as well as many others could consivably have done it. the point IS that it was done and could endanger the ceasefire.

now it is correct that the hezbolla is not actualy bound by the un as it is indeed not a member. on the other hand the ceasefire was basicaly what they wanted as well as to get the isrilies out. as such fireing the rockets only gives isrial the chance to continue (BAAAAAD planning). i am looking forward to see what if anything happens because of this.

And let's settle down... Everyone here at ATS should be considered armed and dangerous... Let's make sure we show each other the proper courtesy.

Thanks.
