Two Fox New reporters, Steve Centanni and a camera man have been nabbed in Gaza. Details are a limited but the vehicle they were removed from was labelled with "TV" on it stating that they were reporters.

www.usatoday.com
A Fox employee in Gaza, who declined to give his name because he was not authorized to release information about the incident, said the two kidnapped people were reporter Steve Centanni, a U.S. citizen, and a cameraman from New Zealand.

The men, along with a bodyguard, were parked near the headquarters of the Palestinian security services when two trucks filled with gunmen pulled up and boxed them in, according to the employee. The gunmen took the two out of their sports utility vehicle, which was marked "TV," and drove away, he said.

Reports have been on the battle lines for many years in all the major conflicts around the world. They are willing to take this risk but do they truly realize that they can become an easy target for someone who wants to exploit their own means? Its been known for sometime that the rules don't apply anymore and this is just another case of that.

I see your story is an AP release.
And, well, we've got FOX News on now and they're not saying a word.

Yet, they admit two of their people were taken against their wills.
From your link:

"We can confirm that two of our people were taken against their will in Gaza," Fox News said in a statement.

Maybe they are awaiting instructions or news from the abductors???

I just saw this mentioned on FOX.

My thoughts and prayers are with them and I hope they are released soon without any harm.

I would think a card carrying Zionist would have more chance of escaping with their lives from this than a FOX news employee. Any ways, what is FOX news sending staff into Gaza for? Dont they already get all the information they need directly from the Israeli foreign office and the many PR firms that Israel hires to prepackage news stories?

Will FOX bargain for the life of it's employees or will they emulate the long standing US policy of not negotiating with terrorists? These poor people are boned.

Most of the people kidnapped from Gaza are released unharmed, usually within a relatively short period of time. I hope that holds true for these gentlemen as well.

Does FOX even have the authority to negotiate for their employees? I would think only the governments are allowed to do such things, and well as of yet we have NO IDEA who is behind this act before we start talking about Arab-jihadist-terrorist scum.

I hope they get the "fair and Balanced" treatment they deserve.

Have to be rather nuts to go into Gaza when you work for the "voice of the neocons".

I suppose it depends on what you define as respected. I'm not a fan of Fox News, but there are plenty of people that are.

There have been a few small mentions of talks taking place, but I'm not sure if they are the product of wishful thinking on the part of Wiig's wife or if Fox is really negotiating.

Wiig's wife, Anita McNaught, said Fox representatives told her negotiations for their release were already under way. But officials in Gaza said no contact had been established with the kidnappers.

and the Winner of the most idiotic manuever of the year is "THE PALESTINIANS"

as said... now the palestinians will FINALLY be getting the fair and balanced treatment they deserve...
because kidnapping journalists always makes your public image look better...

I am sure Fox will be real nice about it also...

I would think that anyone has the "authority" , all it takes is to be able to meet the terms you negotiate (money etc.).

Surprisingly enough, I haven’t heard a ton of hubbub about it. When Bob Woodworth got shell shocked, it was plastered all over the news. Now that two journalists have been kidnapped we aren’t hearing too much.

Just wait until they get them back...
then we will see how palestinians are equated with cannibals and neanderthals by scientific experts, and health officials... all on Sean Hannity of course...

Fair and balanced is as fair and balanced does...

Why oh why... would the palestinians poke themselves in the eye?
I guess they figured that their rep on Fox couldn't get any worse... and there they do have a point...

I could take anyone here downtown to where all the crackheads, tweakers and prostitutes hangout and I would suggest they pack some heat if they don't want to be a victim. There's no islamic insurgents there either.

I think the greater disease is the one label fits all mentality.

Palestinians Look for 2 Fox Journalists
Palestinian security forces hunted for two abducted Fox News journalists Tuesday, and the Palestinian president and prime minister intervened in an attempt to gain their release.

The prime minister assured the Fox News representatives that Palestinian security forces would use all their power to "put an end to it soon," said government spokesman Ghazi Hamad said, without elaborating.

Nabil Abu Rdeinah, an Abbas aide, said the president ordered all security forces to work on tracking the two journalists. "This is an unacceptable act. We condemn this operation and hope we would succeed to find a peaceful solution very soon," he said.
