The surprise is if they had this-and it isn't a new arrival as I believe I is- why did they not use it to shhot down the f-16's or helicopters from the begining and "protect" the lebanese civilians they put in mortal danger.
So do we have evidence of hezbolla's not caring about Lebanese civillians or do we have weapons coming from Iran aned Syria-Who claim they are not sending anything to the hezbolla.

Yea jets typically fly tens of thousands of feet in the air and drop bombs from a point where they are barely visible to the naked eye, or not at all if there is cloud cover. Helicopters are primarily used for Air support of ground units in the field, and therefore fly much much lower. Not to mention they are quite a bit slower than Jets. I do believe Hezbollah has a right to defend itself, just liek any other human beings who are being targeted for death.
Why would you complain about a couple of missles coming from their allies when we pretty much gave, sold, or helped build everything Israel has as far as military might goes.
A single helicopter won't really make too much difference though, they probably been replaced already.

Not likely, a shoulder fired SAM has very limited range, maybe 5 miles at most. To shoot down a jet at 15,000 feet with one would a feat and a half!
Seeing as 15,000 feet is 3 miles already, take into account the plane will be travelling whilst the missile is en route, I doubt it is even possible in perfect conditions to shoot down a fighter jet with a shoulder-fired SAM.

Obviously they have them now. Those 18 soldiers could have killed countless civilians as well as the chopper itself was capable of taking civilian lives. It was a military target and not a carload of fleeing Israelis.
Strange how people worry about Hizbollah getting weaponry but it doesn't bother them that israel is bombing not just in southern Lebanon where Hizbollah is but even as far north as the mountain region where there are no Hizbollah.
Now if only they could get their hands on some SAM's they could take out a few jets too and save even more civilian life.

Yep- or Israel can widen the ground offensive even further and 'wipe Hezbollah off the map'. Too many times I have seen posts from you openly declaring the deaths of Israeli armed forces- Israel is being hit with rockets too, civilians are dying on both sides unfortunately- but it is a fact of war.

Stu, As I have asked before, why were they ( the new missiles) not fired till now?
There were drones and low flying helicopters from the begining????
Could it be their (edit) masters are resuppling them?
Could thus be the reason Israel is bombing anything coming from Syria-like weapons/fighters and such

What would you like me to say? Yay IDF Go gettem? Sorry aint gonna happen.
1100 dead Lebanese civilians, 60+ IDF/IAF 35 Israeli civilians. I'd rather see those soldiers who are there to kill Lebanese people dead then see Lebanese civilians dead. The majority here had they survived and massacred dozens of lebanese would have been denying anything even happened..so point your crooked finger elsewhere. Between this war and last one 18,000 dead civilians Men/Women and children. I didn't hear you saying anything while Condoleeza Rice or GWB were taking their time in urging Israel into a ceasefire either. Save your sanctimonious bs for another day.

Israel the big bad boogeyman! How would you react to missles being fired into your country from an unmarked enemy? Don't kid yourself with the 'Hezbollah wear uniform' routine- do they bollocks. Hezbollah has fired up to 3000 rockets on Israeli towns so far, but then the Israelis are boogey men so it's fine! You talk and act like Hezbollah are martys- there defending against the big bad enemy- they are just as sick, perhaps even more when hiding in and around civilians.

They are cold-blooded murderers. Its not a fairy tale as you would try to have people believe. In reality over 1000 people are dead, 1,000,000 people homeless and 1000's are injured, maimed or deformed, billions of $ in infrastructure damaged, and miles of coastline polluted for many years to come. Your little boogeyman story makes them seem so harmless. Im also not counting all the death and destruction in Palestine during the whole fiasco in lebanon, that your little boogeymen were dishing out at the very same time. Boogeymen. LOL

PM to abductees' parents: We'll talk with Hezbollah on release
By Aluf Benn, Haaretz Correspondent
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Sunday met with the parents of abducted Israel Defense Forces soldiers Eldad Regev and Udi Goldwasser and told them that Israel will negotiate with Hezbollah over their release. Defense Minister Amir Peretz also attended the meeting.
Olmert gave the parents an update on the UN resolution and on the steps Israel is taking in order to release the three abducted soldiers (including IDF soldier Gilad Shalit abducted on the Gaza-Israel border). The prime minister said that Israel is doing its utmost to bring about the release of the two, who were kidnapped by Hezbollah on July 12 on Israel's northern border.
The UN resolution on cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon calls for the unconditional release of the abducted Israeli soldiers, but is not included as a binding section in the resolution.
If we assume the Hezbollah arsenal consists entirely of Fajr-3/Fajr-5 rockets, then we find that the entire Hezbollah rocket arsenal is between 385 and 535 tons. And we know this estimate is probably greatly over-estimated. So far, only 20% of the arsenal has been expended killing 17 civilians and 19 soldiers.
Using low payload estimates of Israeli F-16s and Apaches, the Israelis have already dropped between 2200 and 4000 tons of ordinance on Lebanon. This doesn't account for shelling from Israeli naval vessels, or anything expended by tanks and infantry.
