Well the answer to that logical fallacy is quite simple. No-one cares about any "ol' unidentified", what attracted attention in the first place and had held captive audience ever since has been those objects that defy conventional explanation and exhibit unconventional characteristics.

Anything can be "unidentified", but Ufology only cares about those which still defy conventional explanation.

Every single person on this planet would panic and be scared beyond belief untill
we found out what their intentions were. Anybody who says otherwise is simply
full of bravado and lying to themselves.
