Eating your own boogers

Do you eat your own boogers? Is there any nutritional value in eating boogers? Is it bad for your health to eat boogers?

Dude.... no. That's just wrong.

A cousin of mine used to eat his boogers mixed with earwax. He said it tasted good. I tried it, but I thought it was pretty effin nasty!

NEVER eat your own. It's unhealthy.

I recommend that you only eat those of others.

Wow.. To me Boogers are the grossest things possible.

If I ever ate a booger I would more than likely puke.

But I Remember from elementary school a kid would take his boogers and press them into his book to save them and then later in the day he would eat them. From seeing that as many times as I had in Elementary school I am now going into 10th grade and I still have not recovered. I am emotionally scarred just because of boogers.

I gotta dig up the link, but they found that booger digestion actually is healthy. It helps strengthen your imune system by allowing the body to absorb and destroy already dead bacteria that is trapped in the mucus of your boogers and find better ways to fight against it in the future.


So its actually healthy.

Actually, I did hear something one time about this.

Basically, the question was "Do new age parents try to keep their kids too clean?" and the basis of the question was, by having our kids clean up so much, that they are actually missing out on bacteria that like the above posted said, helps build their young immune systems up.

They even said something along the lines of, snot eating at a young age is not "so bad" due to these reasons, as it actually builds the immune systems of young people.

Nevertheless, it wont help you get a girl friend in later years. Nor with it get you friends. So, I would assume, that snot eating is not terribly bad for you later in age, but not something that has major benifits either.

Mucas (boogers, snot, what-have-you) drains out of our sinuses into the nose and from there runs down the back of the throat. Here it mixes with saliva and is swallowed.
We all eat boogers all the time.

I was going to post something along those line too, Umbrax.

I just couldnt think of a way to put it so that I wasnt trying to justify my own snot eating (or should I say 'swallowing'). You seem to have found the way

You can pick your nose and you can pick your friends but you can't pick your friends nose. We may in one form like one has said eat boogers all the time but picking them from your nose is just plain nasty. We have a sicko here at my workplace (professional) that seems that the wall behind the urinal is a great spot to wipe his boogers on and leave them there. Sicko!

i think boogers have some food value,but i wouldnt eat them. they taste...kinda salty."licks finger" i taste a little nutmeg also probably about 40 percent protein,55 percent water 2 percetn salt, 3 percetn unknown

I will try to allow for the fact that, perhaps, you were young and impressionable at the time of this, er, mishap. But, from this moment on......NEVER do anything your cousin suggests. NEVER. Your cousin is beyond hope of redemption. His soul has been forever tainted.

Lol, sorry BT, I was only 4 or 5 at the time. I kept telling him "no!" and he kept saying how good it was, so I was like "ehh what the hell".

I don't have a problem with people picking them although I do have a problem with where they leave them.
