Several Knesset members are denouncing the massacres taking place in Lebanon by the IDF/IAF and are saying Israel is doing so under US protection. Well DUHHHH. I knew that for a while now.

MK Barakeh: Government carrying out massacres under U.S. protection

By Gideon Alon and Yoav Stern, Haaretz Correspondents

Left-wing factions of Knesset on Sunday denounced the Israel Air Force strike on the Lebanese village of Qana that left 54 people dead.

MK Mohhamed Barakeh (Hadash) said the only result of the offensive being waged by Olmert and Peretz in Lebanon is a series of war crimes. "The government has decided to carry out massacres in Gaza and Lebanon under the protection of the U.S."

Meretz chairman Yossi Beilin said the large number of civilian casualties at Qana proves that prolonging the campaign in Lebanon won't help obtain the operation's objectives.

Beilin added that no Israel Defense Forces statement could justify the pictures of innocent casualties, nor the reality that another strike like this could happen again.

MK Avshalom Vilan (Meretz) called for negotiations, adding "what happened there is a humanitarian disaster that no one intended, but the outcome is a black flag

Thanx, Pie. I was beginning to think the entire nation of Israel drank the group-think "Kool-Aid"! At least some can "handle the truth" and this is a good sign. Enough? One teardrop in an ocean of dysfunction.

Thanx again,

Qana v1.0, Qana v2.0...What's next?

There are people within that are totally horrified by whats going on. If you go to Haaretz.com and read the talk-backs (The comments) You can see even people of Jewish background are really upset. People all over the world describing this as crimes againt humanity and calling for trials at the hague. I think its about time. Maybe thats what they need as a wakeup call so they don't think this kind of attitude will be acceptable from any country wether allied with the USA or not.
