First of all I am not sure this belongs here but I have what I think is a White Crow near my house and I have never even herd of one before. Does anyone know anything about them or is this a usual thing that I have not seen before?

ITs normal just not common.
I have never seen a white deer, but i know they are out there,
because everytime a hunter see's one he shoots it, then its a
new story.

I believe all animals are prone to an occasional albino,
I think it'd be cool to see a white crow.
I did see an albino deer once, but I didn't want to shoot it.
A couple of years ago there was an albino black squirrel running around here. The only reason I knew it was a black squirrel was because it hung out with the other black squirrels.

White crows are cool looking! Never thought there was such a thing.

Twice in the last couple of months I have seen a single white dove flying around low while I was driving in the neighborhood. I have heard of people releasing them at weddings, but this was rush hour traffic in mid afternoon!

Anyway, white birds are attractive.

Not trying to rain on your parade here, but Polarbears aren't albino, it's just their fur that's white. In fact, it's another species. Info here.

Ah, messybeast, I've visited that site quite often.

Still more leucistic birds: users.utu.fi...

I wonder if birds occasionally have white spots, like many dogs. And if their genetics for this color pattern is similar it would be rather easy to breed white crows, if both parents carry the right genes.

There are a number of white and partly white crows in the village where I live. In fact i've been trying to catch them with my camera for about 6 months! The majority seem to be 60% black and 40% white although there are totally white ones.

I was wondering could this be due to pollution? I only ask as the village where I live has extensive underground mine working that were closed about 50 years ago. Possibly polluting the water supply? The white and partially white ones are nasty little sods.... they seem to 'bully' the other crows a heck of alot. But they are quite nice to look at.
