i thought they used pressure sensitive devices in certain intersections but used programmed timing during rush hour and during the day???

thats how they did it for the longest time.

WEll the stop light can recieve infrared transmissions too. So like if I was a fire truck I could beam the stop light and make it red for everyone, to stop traffic so I could get through.

uh....the firetrucks just run redlights. of course traffic is also suppose to pull off to the side of the road and stop but many ignore all emergency vehicles....

read the article. It says differently. I would imagine this would be used in busier places, like NY, etc.
