Aid convoy hit by Israeli's.

An aid convoy was hit by what was thought to be an Israeli jet today causing casualties among the evacuees on board.

An aid convoy has been hit by an Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon.

Sky News reporter David Bowden said the convoy was returning from the village of Rmeish to the port city of Tyre.

Organised by Lebanese civil defence workers it had evacuated dozens of civilians caught up in the 17-day-old war between Israel and the Hizbollah guerrillas.

One vehicle was damaged and three civilians were wounded.

"We were travelling back from southern Lebanon towards Tyre where we've been based for the past week or so," Bowden said.

"One of the vehicles was struck from the air - we don't know what kind of strike it was.

On the live reports from the Sky News correspondant travelling with this convoy, it was stated mortars may have also been used. Either way i wonder how the Israeli will explain away this one?

They have now had to stop at a UN base for safety, i'll reserve comment on that one out of respect for the new sarcasm rules on the site!

Israel's professionalism is taking a hit in this conflict.

This is deplorable.

How will they explain this one?

Perhaps though there wont be such a big deal about it because it is the second UN accident in less than a week.

Israel also contacted the United Nations and asked it to warn the group of the danger.
