The Reason for not securing the Border

Is the reason for not securing the border to usher in the North American Union?

This is an interview with an author of the book on the subject, what he says is distressing. A NAU will make Canada, US, and Mexico into basically one nation. Much like the EU. Immigration will not matter. It is for "trade" mostly.

I personally don't have a problem with Canada, but Mexico? They have too many problems. If it was between Canada and the US it would be more okay. But our nations will be less sovereign...I just don't like it or want it. And I don't see many Americans liking it either, especially if Mexico is included.
