Credit is hardly an evil. Without credit, most of what we have today wouldn't exist. People need to be able to take out loans, or get capital through credit, in order to invest in technology, research, public infrastructure, etc.
Last time I checked, neither jesus nor mohammed were renowned for their market strategies. They're good for religion, but probably wouldn't make good investment strategists.

Actually, it's not that simple.
Some things in life are expensive... like say, a house. I have to live somewhere. If I do not own, then I have to rent. If I had to rent until I had saved enough for a house, then I would be too old to have a family. Borrowing money on my credit is the way to afford a house while I'm still young enough to fill it.
Same thing for my college loans... I would not have been able to afford good schooling, if I had not borrowed.
I'm happy for you, if you are wealthy enough to never need more money. Not everyone is so lucky.

Probably 0%. Maybe because its a useful tool, with many practical applications.
