Kenaf is one the biggest candidates to help improve the environment. I think the only thing the kenaf industry is lacking is a little effort and
participation.
If you don’t know about kenaf here are a couple of articles on it:
Its supposed to be an alternative to paper and cotton?
If it is a cheaper alternative to using trees for paper pulp, why isn't the paper industry making use of it? They could reduce their costs, and
increase their profits.
From what I gather, kenaf can be used for basically the same things as hemp. But I think from the looks of the plant photo in wikipedia it yields much
more fiber. en.wikipedia.org... The plants are huge.
Uses:
Fabric
Paper
Particle board
Rope
Oils
Etc, etc.
At the moment the kenaf paper Is more expensive than wood paper because people aren’t quite using it yet. The interest and sales must go up before
the prices go down if I understand the market correctly.
Hell, id spend a few extra bucks for kenaf paper. Worth it to me!
It’s also a neat plant I’d love to grow some myself.
