I have to say I am truly disappointed in my government and it is my belief they are aiding and abetting in this , as well as attempting to incite other arab nations into the fray. Our tax dollars are at work here.

Report: U.S. rushes precision-guided bombs to Israel

By Reuters

The Bush administration is rushing a delivery of precision-guided bombs to Israel, which requested the expedited shipment last week after beginning its air campaign against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, The New York Times reported on Saturday.

Citing U.S. officials who spoke on Friday on condition of anonymity, the Times said the decision to ship the weapons quickly came after relatively little debate within the administration, and noted in its report that its disclosure threatens to anger Arab governments and others who could perceive Washington as aiding Israel in the manner that Iran has armed Hezbollah.

The munitions are actually part of a multimillion-dollar arms-sale package approved last year which Israel is able to tap when it needs to, the officials told the Times. But some military officers said the request for expedited delivery was unusual and indicated that Israel has many targets it plans to hit in Lebanon.

We [the US tax payers] do arm you already, and you have yet to repay us for the 46 billion dollars that we gave you to put towards weapons and other things. Oh also the weapons you bought from us, that Congress "forgave".

to tell you the truth, US equipment in it's general,is a total piece of poo.
only reason we USE it ,is beacus americans basicly force our army to use it.
i'd rather go for the russian equipment, both effective AND cost effective.
israel is one of the reason you americans have such a big war industry,
so you give Israel aid cash, and we "use" that cash to buy YOUR equipment.

This is not the point. The point is today and now they should not be re-arming them to continue this massacre. They can give them aid, but this is not the time, not at a time when they are destroying everyones property, taking lives and forcing people to suffer inhumanely in Gaza and Lebanon without electricity, food and water.

This administration will bring International outcry. They are bringing this country down to the levels we have never been to before in our entire history as a nation. The 2 governments are almost mirroring each other.

If Iran supports a group of terrorists called Hezbollah, then instead of leading by example and practicing what they preach, the US is arming up the other terrorist group of which is the IDF (Israeli Defence Force) or should that be The Israeli Terrorist Force because their actions are not constituting a democratic state but that of Hezbollah,

Unfortunately, like it or not, America's constant double standards within the international community will be what bring it, and Israel down in the end. When you say something, you should stick to it, not have one set of rules for your friends and one set for all the others.

we give you the cash and you buy it with the cash we gave you, that you never have to give back, and then to further the thievery, they place brand new stuff into the Excess surplus line even though its brand new and you get brand new fighter jets for 50% what they are supposed to go for ala people like Dov Zakheim.
Like those crappy Lavi fighters we ended up paying for even though they never even existed.
So not only do you get the aid, you get the items for 1/2 of what we have already paid for them.

We force you to do nothing. Its a nice tidy little scam and they don't plan on losing it.

Mate, what I got? what sort of question is that? Im not lebanese, hezbollah or any sort of supporter of theirs. Asking me what I got is implying that Im a member of theirs, far from it. Im just a politically minded, angry individual, sitting at home in melbourne Australia, expressing my thoughts in this forum as are many others.

If you wanna know what I got in my garage? Why don't you come to place and introduce yourself? I'll be more than happy to show you "what I got !"

Hm...and why do you have an army that can defend Israel? Why do you have enough money to support your economy (though what I heard it was in recession), while paying so much for your military? Why can you basically do whatever you want when other small nations cannot?

That is riggghhhttt, the nation that has equipment like "poo"

Hi PieMan... great (and unsettling) new avatar.

Well this thread is turning out kind of like how I expected and that's the reason why I hardly ever post here nowadays.

I'm surprised that you're disappointed that the US is giving more arms to Israel. It's what they always do at times like this.

My disgust with the mainstream media, who are condoning the wholesale slaughter of the civilian population of Lebanon, is reaching new heights. Ever since 9/11 the media have deteriorated and the trend just continues. No-one mentioned the Israeli kidnappings of Lebanese and Palestinian citizens, people hardly said a thing while Gaza was starved of resources... the whole thing is collective punishment and we all know (though nobody dare mention, of course) who was really famous for that kind of thing (apart from the British, obviously, but we're good at whitewashing our history too).

Hey Rich
long time no see. I noticed you haven't posted here much. You are probably lucky. I have been U2U'd by several people just because of my views and so far I will not let it get to me. My convictions are not racist in any way nor unpatriotic. I just want to see some balance and an end to this conflict and some wrongs righted.
I hope you post more often. I'd like to see Donwhite here a little more too. Hes a fair and honest guy just like you.

Yes.
Wonderfull.
US is rushing Precision-Guided bombs so civilians can be killed more preciselly.

As we speak, there is an American family in Lebanon, cut of from the world and help, hiding from house to house (seen on CNN or SKY News) waveing their American passports and asking for evacuation.

In another thread about the same subject (that got closed down) someone said:

but israel buys the arms, american tax payers dont fund the cost.

This is actualy completely and utterly wrong there, from 1948 to 1997 (and its still ongoing) $84 BILLION of financial aid (thats about 134 Billion in terms of what taxpayers payed) was sent from the US to Israel, thats $14,630 per Israeli. In 2005 alone the number of financial aid was 2.6 Billion.

www.washington-report.org...

And thats just the Financial aid, the total aid, including military is somewhere close or over 100 Billion.

Other then that, Israel is the only nation recieving aid from the US that doesn't have to report to anyone what it spends all this cash on.

Also, you need to remember, 100 Billion aid for the US might not seem much while the US has 298 Million inhabitants with a 12400 Trillion $ GDP, but Israel only has 6.3 Million people with a 115 Billion $ GDP of which there are almost 20% Islamic arabs.

Now, guess how many of the 21% of Israeli who live below the poverty line are these Arabs? ...

Then, Israel's GDP is around 115 Billion $, their anual revenue around 43 Billion$.

Almost the entire worth of Israel is comprised of money sent to Israel by the US goverment in the last 50 or so years!

More then 6% of their anual revenue is FREE MONEY, sent by the US Goverment.

well....with 'targeted' bombs the israelis should be able to take out hezzbollha targets more accuratley, thus limiting the death of civilians ..isnt that a good thing?

Come now, you guys really had to see this whole thing coming.

Much like some of us also saw the usual chorus of litanies of 'collective punishment', 'massacres', etc...

As long as we are talking about the thread participants missing the boat in this whole endeavor... So too you're missing what the focus of the weapons are going to be...

These precision weapons are really not so much about minimizing civilian casualties (which IS a bonus
), but about going after the Hezbollah leadership. Following the rats whereever they happen to hide themselves.

It's not exactly like Lebanon is a huge country for them to hide in.

The only real question at this point is how soon the Hezbollah leadership will cease to exist... To great fanfare.

Good riddance.

One tiny other comment... Where are those chest-thumping, saber-rattling Iranians AND Syrians...

Cowering in their respective corners!

Psst... I think the Israelis are REALLY pissed this time.

Let's just call these cozy little deals "Funnel, Inc." This time the funnel being Israel as the arms manufacturers and investors scarf up our tax dollars any which way they can.

War is a racket.

No damn wonder our ME diplomacy is a joke all over the world. Heck of a job Condi, where the hell are ya, Karen? Singing to the tune of the American Death Culture?

The Russians armed the Sudanese government. They are busy slaugtering thousands of muslims and Christians, burning villages, raping women and children. Nobody mentions that. Its fun to bash the US and Israel.

Every nation on earth receives aid and weapons from other countries.

God will never allow the Jewish state to fall....they are HIS chosen ppl. sounds to me like this is sour grapes on your part for some reason. But then again it says in the end that ALL nations will come against Israel. I personally applaud US helping Israel, God said whoever helps Israel will receive blessings.
