Since the split between ATS & BTS, you would think the hardcore conspiracists would be satisfied having their own enclave.

But it does not appear to be that way. They are still complaining about not getting enough quality posts at ATS, that the existence of BTS is somehow degrading ATS, & now they are trying to force quality posts by encouraging more manipulation of the points system.
It just doesn't work that way.

Well, I got my e-mail addy, I could give a damn less about the points now, hehe... They can do whatever they want to with points...even if they don't give a single point for BTS posts, I wouldn't care one way or the other...I'd still post here, as I think it's a vital part of the community building process.

Sure, we may get all deep and into it over on ATS, but here's where we all get to know each other, and just joke around... Personally, I prefer the light-hearted approach, but I like to be serious once in a while too....

I'll be here more than ATS, regardless of what they do with points...

Making so many more points for ATS is just goin to encourage people to post there even though they have nothing to contribute. I might wait a week and start another post about it not being a plane to hit the pentagon. I figure with everybody yelling at me telling me that it has already been done 10 times I can get a cool grand out of it.

Then I will just go through the other posts and paraphrase whatever the general consensus is on the post. Yup, I have it all planned out, I will be running this place in a month.

Hehe...that's pretty funny, but sadly...true...

Actually, the drop in consistency of quality in the more 'scholarly' segment of ATS can be attributed to a major drop in the frequency of posting of some people. Nothing to do with points or otherwise.

This is not to reflect on the contributions of people who have worthwhile things to say, and keep saying them.

I'll post on this elsewhere, some time, but at this stage I hope we get at least some of these folks back, pronto...

These are people I notice posting much much much less than before. There must be reasons for why, I know only some of them. And there are other people who aren't top of mind for me as well, to whom I apologize.

These are not members who can be swept under the carpet with statements of "things evolve, people leave, a half dozen or so don't matter".

I could care less about points, I post what I am interested in at that moment.

Making X forum be worth more points than Y forum has no affect on my posting.

Post freely, and at will, and be cognizant that some nutters out there may be keeping a mental note of your posting frequency and your own mental notes.

No I would not have mentioned you not mentioning me in the above post infact I wouldn't have mentioned to you in a non-mentioning way via private or whatever that you didn't even mention me in that one post where you mentioned all the other members you mentioned

It is quite sad that most of the greatest minds on ATS are barely posting anything these days. Myself I rarely go on anymore, which Ill hopefully get back into the habbit of at least reading a few posts a day.

What I came to realize is that the more people treat ATS as just another online forum, that's what its becoming, but I would rather it be an online community among intellectual's.

Guess we will have to wait and see
