ATS, BTS, What would you like to see in the future?

Another thing I think that could be good and fun for members is adding voting / polling / survey mechanism and a graphing output for it.

A user decides they want to create a simple user poll. They could go to polls.abovetopsecret.com and add one of the following types of pre-defined polls:

Yes/No
Yes/No/Maybe

scale 1-(n) where n is a configurable limit or selectable (5, 10, other)

Surveys are more complex, requiring customizable buckets (integer counter fields, item lists for choice answers and so on) and the ability to attach labels to them.

Once a poll type is selected
The Question parameter gets filled in
The Creator then chooses from the type of graph output (bar, pie, dot, other)

Other users would have access to the output of the results and could link to the graph in future posts if they have a need to discuss the particular poll/survey results.


I know this is a bit much and the ATS community may not feel it is a good fit or implementation may be difficult but you did ask for suggestions and I have given mine.

well i have to say i dont really like 1 and 2 but being able to transfer points would be cool

what about when we are deducted points, some of them go into a jackpot a member could win if they behave themselves, or some other kind of reward.


I thought we had the option to not display avatars? I had that turned on by accident once and none ever loaded. I find the avatars influence my impression of the posters response, or thread

We have always received plenty of concepts and new ideas/suggestions from the ATS community. In time, we do attempt to integrate your comments into the functionality of Above Top Secret.

With the arrival of William, ATS has seen a fantastic new level of evolution thanks to his marketing and programming skills.

This topic's purpose is to see what further ideas people have. Many long-standing members have seen their suggestions become actuality. I feel it would be interesting to hear what newer members have come up with as well, who have only just noticed the exciting and crazy ATS phenomena.

Set your minds to creativity, what should/will the next evolutionary step be?

The collective knowledge alone should be enough,I would think.
Not to mention the creativity of the collective.
I think the research projects should be brought more into the forefront then hidden in the shadows.

I think that there should be a special section,which could be an invite only special group ,that explores and is free to say what is on their minds with out fear of T&C violations.
Because,one of the downfalls of ATS is the restriction of free thought.
But,in the same it is what has held it together.
There is a balance that needs to be sought out.
So maybe a think tank to where those thoughts can be later on be shared and discussed .

I remember a certain thread that was thrown into the hoax bin,but the conversation continued and alot of info was gained from that. But,that info was basically hidden from the general people who frequent this site.

Just my thoughts on it.

Not being much of a fan of the flagging, because I think people flag prematurely on the first post. It throws off the whole discussion.

I think it should be that you can't flag until there's been at least 4 posts, by different members not including the OP.

I just tried your link , Chose a Picture to Upload by Clicking Browse , Picture ID appeared in ATS Window , BUT THERE Is NO BUTTON to Finish the Upload ! ..........'(

I'm starting to get used to the new look around here, so PLEASE do not make any more big changes to the format.

To be honnest....

I do not like the new "visual" ATS.

Why did ATS need that massive overhaul anyway..? If I could change anything I would change things back the way they were.

I STILL can't find my Posts!!

This is the most annoying thing for me right now... don't know where I posted to what Topic in what Forum!

Please sort his Feature out.

Also I agree with zatara.... I prefer the old ATS.
