the question of Israel in the new millenium

this great sympathy and unbridled support from the United States for Israel is probably one of the most vexing questions in this modern era.
does it arise from a heavy guilt stemming from the holocaust?
Many Jews desperately trying to flee Germany and Austria after Kristallnacht in 1938 were actually turned away from the harbors of New York back into the gaping Nazi maw that was swallowing the european continent. Anti-semitism was a very tightly woven fiber of the national character at the turn of the last century, with many american citizens embracing Hitler's ideas of social order and racial eugenics.
After the entry of the United States into the war, the existence of a great extermination and its breathtaking scope gradually surfaced.early reports were verified and aerial reconnaissance confirmed "The Final Solution." The allies knew of the deathcamps, Auschwitz, Belsen, the others but did nothing.When ideas were floated to stop the wanton murder or at least slow down the holocaust either through direct liberation or bombing the railways leading into the camps, they were discarded as a waste of vital allied resources. so from D-day to VE-day millions of more would perish.
than, with the establishment of the Israeli nation in 1948, the United States and western europe became unabashed supporters of the Jewish plight.
Following were three great wars fought by the IDF (with illicit supply of equipmmennt by the U.S.)internationally denounced land grabs for a "Greater Israel," and the near universal mantra of the muslim Jihadists' pledge that the Great Satan's allegiance with Israel will be our final undoing.
Why such a sudden change of heart by the United States? What is the genesis of this camaraderie? Will our ties with the True Children of Jehovah ultimately cause our Republic to crumble?
