Israeli Police Arrest soldier for faking own abduction

This tells you a lot about the desperation of some of the citizens to frame innocents and cause more death and destruction. Some people say that Palestinians have no morals for killing themselves but these people would go to the same lengths to mak it appear that someone else is responsible for their own doing.

Police hold soldier suspected of faking his own abduction

Police arrested Wednesday evening an Israel Defense Forces soldier, 19, suspected of falsely reporting that he had been abducted.

On Wednesday morning police went on high alert following reports on the infiltration of a would-be suicide bomber to Israel. A few hours later a soldier told police that he spotted in Herzliya a vehicle that matches the description of the car allegedly used by the terrorist.

A short time later a soldier called police, said he was being kidnapped and hung up. Police received yet another call some time later from a man who presented himself as a civilian, saying he had seen a soldier being forcibly taken into a car at the Herzliya train station.

Following these reports Tel Aviv District Police also raised its alert level and roadblocks were deployed across the Tel Aviv area. After no suspected vehicles were spotted by the deployed forces, police became convinced the report is likely to be false.

This would mean Hamas and Hezbollah are playing ball, because both have said they have the captured Soldiers.

No The article doesn't say that and Im sure the kidnapping is genuine, what it means is that an Israeli citizen is not above making it appear as though an arab is behind a bad deed, just to make problems between the 2. I also believe that there are Israelis who would even end their own lives in order to accomplish the same result. The fanatics on both sides are almost identical.

Are you actually suggesting that the jews faked this kidnapping, as part of a conspiracy? And then.....they were the ones that said it was fake??? I mean, wouldnt' they all be on the same page? Or at least their police and military? Why would they have a soldier fake a kidnapping when they could more easily put a bullet in his head and dump him in gaza?

Have to agree with you there.
It would be relatively easy to get a soldier to volunteer his services as a kidnapping victim,with a promise of large amounts of cash and a hideout in a luxury hotel for a few months..Then simply spirit him away to a secure location,then bye bye

Doesn,t make sense..Maybe was a soldier trying to desert/hide from service.

It took them a while to figure it out and that was after he finally admitted what he had done. In the meantime if they did not trace him, it could have easily escalated into something larger then it was.


Do you remember the woman who drowned her own 3 kids by driving her car into a lake? She got on TV and made a national plea to find her missing children and said a Black guy had took her car and kids. Americans fell for it hook line and sinker at first.

The only difference in our prejudice is that Americans wouldn't bomb an entire Ghetto to find one black guy that took the car.

Exactly.... the Middle East is a sad place for earthly examples. It just doesn't make much sense to rip open a country to find 2 kidnapped Israeli soldiers does it ?

It seems it does in this case for some reason. Even though they haven't gotten any of them back and doesn't seem like they are getting very many Hizbollah or Hamas guys. I keep seeing the word Civilians

Pieman is allowed to post anything he wants. He is showing that things shouldn't be only one sided, and it isn't only the Palestinian people who do screwy things. Both in Israel & Palestine there are fanatics, and that is why there will never be peace there. It is just unfortunate that INNOCENT people, on both sides and in other countries must take the grunt for this fanatical type behavior.
