For some reason I thought ads only hit non-members. And then I thought my paypal payment got rid of them. I guess I was wrong.

For the love of god get rid of that walking dead video ad that is forced on you everytime you're on the main page.

I mean hey there is no bigger fan of that series than me, but at least let us choose if we want to click it. Its absolutely ridiculous. ~$heopleNation

My phone just today started redirecting me to some German Game site and tried opening App store.

Can no longer access this site from my phone because of it.

I can't reproduce that on Android or iPhone. I've been using both quite a bit today as I'm working on some new (ad related) code, and I've loaded several dozen mobile pages in the past few hours.

Can you tell if it happens in conjunction with an ad that loads on the page, or if it's automatic before the page loads? If it's automatic, it might be something with your carrier (happening more and more), or an exploit of your mobile Chrome browser (this is starting to happen also).

Anyone been getting a "www.mobi-tips.com" redirect today? Seems to redirect to google play store to the app "Ali-Express".

been getting it from the main page, tried cleaning cache and such but I still seem to get it.Seems to happen more when I have my tab vertical rather than horizontal.

using galaxy tab 2.

ETA-the redirect link says something about click-union ucweb.com if that means anything.

I'm finding ATS to be nearly unusable today on iPad. Slightly better if signed in. I'm getting an ad for a give way that says I've won an iPad, nothing I can do will redirect me away from the site after that other than deleting safaris history.

Really aggressive ad action right now keeping me from getting on the mobile site at all.

You try to open the main page, you get sent through ads.mobvertising.net, tracking.crobo.com and sometimes it sticks there and never goes anywhere, but often you get it trying to open an istore link for something, or a scam site like facebook.com-us.net or something similar that tries to appear like facebook and get you to enter your facebook id and password.

It's been impenetrable since about 1800.

eta: facebook.com-us.club. It's an amusing attempt to make you think it's facebook.

Sounds like you have one of the first phone bugs, or, the mobile world has sold us publishers out too.

I thought at first it was verizon but no other site had that issue. I couldn't get on through wifi at the house either. Cleared Safari's brains, no luck. Other iPhone browsers same thing. Got on just now, no problem.

If I cut off JavaScript it didn't hijack me but you can't do much with ATS with it off.

Also I could use the site if I used the ad blocked version of the iPhone browser but it's slow and tedious.

This would seem to imply that it was an ad. It being messed up on two different providers sort of makes it less likely to be an ad inserted by the provider.

Just loaded the homepage on my mobile and was greeted with an ad for some experimental injection to help men with curved penises. The ad itself was fine (as much as an ad can be anyway), but I made the mistake of reading as it scrolled through the list of possible side effects, and I think I may have PTSD now. Thank you.

Hi, this is sort of linked to this thread:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

The difference I'm seeing though, isn't the time the advert takes to load but the amount of screen real estate they take up. For example, the "Jump Around" one blocks out the top 40 odd percent of my screen which makes the underlying posts unreadable. Another one, the "Everything gives you cancer" video is exactly the same.

Only appears to have been happening over the past couple of days though.

Is it just me? Do I need a new pop-up blocker or something?

Cheers.

Oops, exceeded my time limit in getting to edit my post.

Could I just add that these big adverts are becoming a little more frequent and, for me, there is no X "button" to close them down.

Thanks.

I have the same problem as MrCrow there. Not long ago I came across a thread about ad's and I saw we can't use ad block as it is against the T&C's... I have always had that on my browser. Long story short, my kid did some add on in Chrome and basically broke it good and proper. I couldn't be bothered to find out how to properly uninstall Chrome so I did as suggested by google and got their new Chrome Canary. So after I reinstalled Adblock on the new browser, I gave it permissions to call ATS a safe site.

Bleh - ok pages are slow loading and I'm not used to that, but ok, no problem.

But erm when ad's stop me from reading content, there is a problem! Of course I wont put adblock on, you still have the green thumb ATS but I am unhappy browsing here now, painful and annoying... not how I have been used to ATS all these years! *sad face*

Can't see an X to click, maybe Im missing it though

Tell me, is there a way we can pay monthly and be ad free? Can we can we?

[Who is the Mod that does the space paintings? I said years ago, when I get a salary I will buy one, well now is the time!]

You're very welcome! Nothing like getting a reply eh

I noticed the other day an ad on ATS that was for the takeaway I ordered the previous night. I find that a little odd as my Chrome settings has it that "they" cannot use my browsing history for adverts, so it must have been from here or Google lies.

I keep getting the full page Coors Light Ad blocking the page and there's no X to get rid of it. My browser is Chrome.
When I switched to IE it loaded the page. Hope you can do something about this. About a month ago it was the same thing with Best Buy ad.

I've had two ads, just today, that popped up.

Neither pop-up had a means of closing the ad. Had to open a new tab and close the previous just to continue to browse the site.

Getting to be a bit annoying.

The forums are OK but when I try to look at the ATS homepage it redirects and then opens the App Store. I'm using Safari on an iPhone.

Seems to be happening only with the ad in the pic. Browsing with a galaxy s4 I have to scroll down about 2 phone screen length to see the actual page I'm on. Haven't noticed any other banner doing this.
