without mentioning names, its a base on the east coast of scotland. you'll know what one I mean. The increase in traffic has been mostly large supply trucks with around 10 tank trucks moving in,Theres also an increase in the amount of air traffic flying over from the airbase 20 miles up the road....from 2 flybys a week to 1 a day now.

maybe as the UK are sending more troops to afghanistan shortly this may account for the increase in traffic. but with blair doing whatever bush ask's, maybe the UK and US are hodling wargames off the cost of iran and oops a US ship accidently strays in iran's terrotorital waters and a missle accidently missfires.

then iran is dumb enough to shoot back, and hey presto, quicker than you can say george w is a w***** we have a shooting war in the middle east between the US and Iran

I've noticed quite a few big choppers flying over Langley the past few days.

Not sure what that means.

I was at Selfridge ANG yesterday, which is near Port Huron, MI... For what it's worth, nothing seemed out of ordinary, and they had no problem letting some civilians onto the base to go to the commissary.

Oh, and gas prices today are the same as they were yesterday.

It seems most ATSers are young. This sort of stuff has been going on for over 30yrs. Only recently had the tension relaxed some when Israel made some concessions and withdrew their military from some of the border areas, Lebanon and Gaza in an attempt to normalize relations with the various antagonists. But despite those concessions Hamas continued its rocket attacks. Is Israel blameless? Of course not. Is anything ever that simple? But make no mistake, crossing an international border and abducting military personnel --- be it 1 or 1,000 is an Act of War. Combine that with the incessant Qassam attacks and Israel clearly decided enough is enough. Anyone care to speculate on what would happen if the Cuban military snuck into Florida and abducted an active duty military person and then went on the international news to boast about it? It seems all of these groups have only one agenda --- eliminate Israel at any cost. And perhaps what they are attempting to do is bait Isarael into a situation that provides all of the players, Hamas, Palestine, Hezbollah, Syria, Iran, etc. with an excuse to drop the hammer. What possible motive could there be for Hezbollah to have abducted those soldiers but to exacerbate an already bad situation and open another front? Clearly, no one involved could be stupid enough to believe that such an action would serve to calm the situation.

It does seem Israel is at least acting totally disproportionately to what was a first act of war against them, but relatively minor...I would they would have tried to negotiate a bit before they would have basically taking over Lebanon.

I don't the U.S. oor other NATO military forces are going to touch this one with a ten foot pole unless it seems Israel is going to fall to Arab forces, which is something really impossible I think.

It sounds like it could be the beginning of a war in which the antichrist emerges as a great peacekeeper...but there have been several such conflicts in the Middle East ever since Israel was reconstituted as a nation.

I read this too. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Titor, or Nostradamus, I think it was a poster here on ATS who wrote it. Prophecy talk doesn't hold a great deal of weight with me, but it would be interesting to go over what this guy said again.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

The picture, from all sources, is this: The first year of real troubles is 2006 - year 5766 of the hebrew calendar, which actually begins September 2005. I think this will be the year of the 'Armageddon' war. The Essene Book of Revelation gives quite a clear description of a bitter war that continues dispite the background of natural disasters and chaos. Isaiah provides a description of the nuclear destruction of Jerusalem (Ariel) and Israel's counterstrike (Isaiah 29:1-7). The Bible Codes provide a message "the 9th of Av is the day of the third" - this is the hebrew date that is infamous for being the date on which Jerusalem has twice been destroyed, once by the Babylonians and once by the Romans. It could be 2005 and it could be 2010 but I think it will most likely be 3rd August 2006 and the asteroid impact (see the wormwood code also) will be soon afterwards.

www.exodus2006.com...

was something like this and this

In a prophecy told in Ezekiel in the plain text of the bible, it says that Israel will be invaded from the North. Syria is also encoded in Ezekiel, with the names of its allies: "Persia" and "Phut." These countries are the present day nations of Iran and Libya. The text of the bible, and the code within in seem to work together predicting a huge destructive battle (World War III) that will begin with a battle between Israel and the surrounding Arab nations. This battle will most likely be fought with atomic weapons. This war will perhaps occur in the years 2000 or 2006.

I guess they just skipped the pointless middle step (negotiating with them - which would have led nowhere) and just got right to the point.

And really, who cares if it's disproportionate. If you're in a war, you're in it to win it. If you purposely pick a fight with the biggest kid in your class, what do you think is going to happen?

do you really think if there was such a thing as the bible code, they would give it to the public. i believe like others there is a bible code but again the public get this watered done rubbish version. like how astrology is rubbish in the public eyes because behind the scenes astrology works, and corporations and high profile people use it.

they just gave the public a watered down rubbish version of the bible code.

My main concern, as I think Bush said, is that there is a fledgling democracy in Lebanon. I would just hate to see that destroyed just because Hezbollah cells are still in the country. Maybe the best thing is for this to spread to Syria and topple its government.

I do believe that Ozzy Osbourne states it best in "Crazy Train"
"Crazy, but thats how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe its not to late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate"

As for the gas issue i just went to fill my tank and it wasnt that expensive.
AS of 9:19 am crude oil is at $76.

The best thing to do is to punish Israel with economic sanctions. If an Islamic country would have committed such an act of war, the western world would literally crush the country. But Israel, Israel ''has the right to defend itself (Bush)''.

Really, defending your country by killing innocent Lebanese civilians doesn't make sense. Israel also announced to attack Beirut neighbourhoods, where possibly Hezbollah terrorist hide.

israel has stated it is sick of Hezbollah, and they want it to be eradicated. surely that would mean going into syria also. what sort of army do the Lebanese have, are they able to fight back.
