heroes will have a spin-off next season. NBC just announced their fall schedule and have added a new show, Heroes: Origins. The new show will introduce a new hero each week and viewers will vote on who gets to stay for the next season.

NBC has ordered a total of 30 episodes of Heroes and Heroes: Origins.

Er...what?

So like at the end of this season (if Heroes Origins existed for this season), they'd introduce Hiro, Peter, Silar, etc...

And we vote on which characters will return for the next season?

not sure. it sounds like they might focus on new, emerging heroes and then put them in the original the following year. at least that is how I envision it.

So we basically pick who they add to the show?

by the way, someone said the new season will have an all new story and all new characters.

I read it will be a new story and there will be new characters, but the major players from this season (I'm assuming Peter, Claire, Hiro) will be there. They'd be stupid to dump this entire current cast.

I think it was in Entertainment Weekly where they mentioned that this season was about saving NYC and next year would be a more global issue. It does take some of the wind out of the Save The Cheerleader, Save the World sails but it would allow for some more global heroes like hairy armpit girl, rastaman etc.

Not if Claire still plays a central role.

Perhaps she'll end up going to Paris after all is said and done to try and live a normal life, only to be caught up in a global event.

ok, it seems there will be 24 episodes of heroes next season and six episodes of heroes
rigins. I'm guessing these are filler for when they put the show on hiatus.

I'm surprised nobody's talking about last night's show. major things happened and not a single comment.

strange.

I was shocked that they offed Linderman but man was it an excellent way of doing so. WE're all set for Monday's big send off and I will not be here to watch it. I'm missing the finales of two shows while I'm gone and I'm guessing my mother in law is going to screw up the digital recorder and I will come home with heroes and 24 missing from the box.

Linderman's death was a shocker for me. So was DL's death (is he dead?) and Ted's death was expected...

I guess I was suprised that 3 major characters were killed just like BLAM!

Anyway, the buzz about next year is that it's called (in summation) Generations and will feature lots about the major families with powers. Like the Peter's family and Hiro's family, etc...

Basically how they all came into play, or at least why there were all at the Devoe building many years back that we've seen.

I was also thinking last night, since Linderman knew so much about powers going to offspring and so on...wouldn't it make sense that he had children? Something we might learn about in the future.

I agree that Linderman must have had kids along the way. I had read about next season looking into the past a bit as well. I think a look back at how hiro's father, linderman et al got together might be fun.

incidentally, I thought I had finally rid myself of all the heroes text messages and emails and last night I got a voicemail from Nathan P reminding me to vote.

Who knows if Hiro or Syler show up in Volume Two.
No one is safe. Anything can happen. The Heroes may even fail and NYC still blows up.

I'm wondering about the past when Hiro's father and Nathan's father had to fight evil and save the world. Will they go that route and show what happened then? Like you said, maybe NYC will blow and new heroes will have to emerge to save the world. I think Sylar is the perfect evil character and he must show up to keep me interested.

it is such a sweet show. the only television show i do watch since avatar s3 is still not out..but im wondering where they are heading with the story they have killed so many people off. and why doesnt anyone #in do something when sylar is killing them, ted could have gone nuts and at least #ed sylar's # up a little bit, man if someone was going to eat my brain and i could shoot radiation from my hands i'd definitely have a go. do you think there would be some side effects to sylar getting all these abilities, something has to be going wrong with him. when he killed isaac and painted the picture of the nathan, but the president was all green, was that just an artists impression of saying that it wasnt really nathan or is sylar actually becoming messed up? also peter didnt get to absorb lindemann's healing ability which would have been cool, and dl's not dead yet i dont think. does anyone know what the deal is with niki/jessica, that's a crazy storyline there that can be added to the unfinished pile.

Heroes Origins sounds totally awesome, but I have to point out that there's a difference between 'vote on' and 'decide'. Sure, the votes will influence the writers (because who wants to keep a character people don't like and ignore one that they do?) but it's not like it's going to be wholly an audience decision.

I haven't read through this entire thread, so I don't know if these sites have been posted, but they're the links I hit up as soon as I finish an episode and the accompanying graphic novel. All inside stuff - one's a blog from the producer, one's a comic book site where two of the writers answer submitted questions every week.

gregbeeman.blogspot.com...

www.comicbookresources.com...

With Comic Book Resources, they post a lot of Heroes stuff - some of it pics from the set of upcoming eps. Needless to say, I stay well clear of that stuff. The entries you're after are 'Behind the Eclipse'. They're usually released just before the ep airs, but I read them after just in case

Lord god, tell me you are kidding. Tell me they won't make a American Idol Hero's version. Please god, make the bad man stop. Come on.

How many reality, voting show's does the world freaken need. I refuse to text message my vote in. Enough with
up time to show this

Television really is going down the shoot.

Sylar is the Magneto of Hero's.

Power is percieved not totally achieved. He has to seem all powerful, all knowing until he is defeated. If he didn't what peril would the world really be in.

I wonder if Sylar will be killed this season. I kind of doubt it. They will have to come up with new bad guy's eventually.

Yes a lot of hero's have been killed during the year, but were they really hero's our just people who had powers they didn't understand? You have to ask the question, how many hero's does it take to screw in a lightbulb, or unscrew sylar.

MY Own thoughts:

The little dude with the electrical gift was or is going to put up a force field around the building when Peter went off. Of course the future is in flux, with the knowledge obtained. They may still need him. It was cool watching Mr Sulu train Hiro with the sword. I still think it will take a miracle for this seasont to end on a good note. Watch out for a "serious cliffhanger" season finalle.

I wonder if that last one was his brother or already Sylar.

Micah doesn't have electrical powers, only the ability to "talk" to electronics. He wouldn't be able to put up a force field unless there was a force field generating machine in the building already. Or, unless he built one. In any case, it's very unlikely.

It was Nathan......the Sylar timeline with him taking Nathan's place has not happened yet and Sylar does not yet have Candice's shape-changing power (she is still alive).......he could get it by the end...but I think the timeline is different now.

Maybe he also has the ability to talk machines into doing something they weren't designed to do.

My proof was his hand on the window. I reminded me of something someone with power might do as he "shields" his group from a blast of somekind. I guess we will find out so, since the explosion of Peter still seem's likely.

it should be noted that Peter exploded in the other future time line and still lived so there might be something coming up where he still explodes but not in NY. If it comes down to something like Nathan flying into space with Peter, a la superman and the nukes in Superman III, they will lose this viewer.
