the best noise ever gotta be when a train travels at full speed.

This one is related to cars.

It's the sound of a car, on a gravel road..
The muffled popping and cracking of the stones under the tires..
I've always liked that sound..

no, it's gotta be when military jets buzz overhead at a fairly low altitude.

Trains, planes and automobiles? I do suppose that they all can make sounds that can be appreciated and even considered to be the "nicest noise".....but ever? For me, the nicest, most pleasant noise (or sound) would have to be the amazingly loud PURR of my eighteen pound yellow cat, Madeline.

Yes, the "purr" of a fine-tuned ferrari engine or the "purr" of a high performance airplane engine can be considered beautiful to the ears of some. I can easily see the attraction. But when it comes to the "nicest" noise......my cat's purr wins

Nah forget all of that. scratch what I said earlier too.

Nature, in the Summertime.

Rain (without thunder), then when the rain stops, all the birds singing, all happy when the sun comes out!

I love thunder!

My favorite ones are when nice, thick lightning strikes and its a white out and all you can see is light for like two seconds then the thunder comes thats so loud it hurts your ears. Those are the cool ones that happen during the exciting supercells of the US. The only downside of that is when a tornado hits your house.

I have a few:

  • The sound of pouring rain hitting the window when you're inside, it's so relaxing.
  • A bad-arse 4x12" guitar cabinet, with the finest distortion in... ever!
  • Thunder - Especially the kind of thunder we had over here the other day; the tropical storm kind of thunder... y'know that REALLY deep, loud BOOM sound. Oh yeah
  • The sound of a Mic'd bass drum at a metal gig. I remember at the Cradle of Filth, w/ Mendeed gig, the bass drum sounded sooooooooooo nice. Even better being at the front, right near the huge P.A, it was like being rammed in the chest by a goat... scratch that, it felt like being constantly head butted by Zidane in the chest (Cradle of Filth use a hell of a lot of double-bass drum).

Cradle of Filth is the most jumped up band ever, but I'm listening to them right now.

The sound of my son giggling.

If you dont have a child, you will never understand until you do.

I dont want a child b/c when they are 3 they never listen to you and when they are 16 you cant trust them and they never tell you anything b/c telling stuff to your parents is "not cool." I wouldnt be able to trust my son/daughter with drugs and beer. I remember everyone loved beer in high school.

- not to be offending if it sounds like it I did not intend too.
