Could have been anything from a fish to an otter. Didnt see any flippers or fins to suggest it was the "lochness monster". Also didnt really look that big.

Whatever it was, it was quite large. The first surfacing showed a big hump and the second a little smaller but I would say that it was no otter.

Are you sure this is Loch Ness?

i dont think its anything otter-sized. the wake looks to me like theres something fairly big swimming below the surface

This is actually video footage from a research group that was out there looking for the Loch Ness Monster... Which explains why you'll see the professional camera in the footage. I did a quick search but couldn't find the original source of the video - I'll do some more digging and post a link if I find it.

Whatever it is, I'm curious to know more--if someone was able to prove the existance of something that has been rumored for that long, doesn't matter what it is, I'll get excited.

When it the hump comes back up it has the motion of when you whip a vacume cord that flowing motion it you know what I am talking about and to me that suggest serpent of some sort.

Im very suspitious about this video. "What is it" What is it" is not what I would consider normal. Everyone should have been standing there speechless, watching in silence. First response would of been "QUITE" you'll scare it away. Second, look at the water after it has passed the boat. It appears to show a wake of a boat not going too fast, maybe 20 0r 30 seconds old. Could be some elongated inner tube being dragged by a slow moving boat.

Dont get me wrong, I belive Nessie is real, I just dont buy these "Actors" story.

Geoff Mitcheson shot the video footage while cruising the Loch with his family on 5 September 1998 on a boat called "Nessie Hunter"... (Thus they were not out there looking for Nessie per se... But then why 2 cameras with at least one "professional camera"?)

The sceptics say it's a curious seal. Experts (like "experts" from the Edinburgh Zoo) say it's not. Fans say it's the best footage ever.

The first thing I noticed was the movement was of something large, but as it passes by the boat you suddenly see an ebby tide, now an ebby tide is created by something dragging something with something, I can''t deny or confirm this sighting of what ever it was, but it does seem to be rather suspicious as a sighting of a "Sea Creature", as far as it goes for the chaos on board, that is pretty much what you could expect from the eyewitnesses themselve's. This is a remarkable video, if it is real, there are, or should say is, a massive of amount of water displaced, but as I said before, the "Ebby Tide" that is on the side of the boat after the thing clears it's bow, well, if you watch it again, you will see the calm part of the water following the passage of the "Thing".

Nice video though, deserve's some consideration for analysess.

Hmmm ,

I would love to see a better hi res version – with no edits / cut shots – but going with what we have . the first impressions are I don’t impress me much

The dammed filecab wont let me get screen caps off it … grrr .

But @ 00:31 seconds you can clearly see a wakebetween the “ monster “ and the boat , which IMHO is a diver / other object that the crew don’t want you to see

Its not a wake from the boat , which is stopped – or the “ monster “ , or a natural wave --- something is in the water in the lee of the boat , Something the “investigators “ seem at pains to ignore – why is that ??

Also at 00:47 seconds when the “ monster “ has gone under the keel and is now heading for shore – you can clearly see the shoreline and what look to be a line of rocks or boulders extending into the water

They are only about 30m max from shore , IMHO - the water there will be very shallow < 3 feet , begging the question – how big is the “ monster “

The entire editing of the clip , and the fact that they switch cameras does not help , the “ professional “ camera has a time stamp on it – why does it never seem to leave the cabin ??

I am convinced I would have a field day , if I got my hands on the raw unedited take from both cameras – so that I could run them both side by side “ in sync “

Ape says – fakity fake .

That is exactly what I thought. It does apppear to be an innertube being pulled by something hence the disturbed water in the 'monsters path. Notice how fake it seems with the lady standing there saying "this is our sonar system" yet the camera is not showing a clear shot. It looks like the guy next to her gives a nod as well. Then comes all the ridiculous, what seem to be over-acted confused comments. could it be a semi bouyant innertube attatched to some sort of line being pulled upwards and forwards as the water in front of the 'monster' seems to indicate this. However I can't fully see how this could be faked as I would expect to see whatever is pulling the thing in some of the shots.

Hmmmm...
This is puzzling. I can see where you guys are coming from when you say its fake, but I'm still on the fence.
As for what ignorantape posted about it, I can't see any kind of a wake at 37 seconds and I do believe that the ground continues for some feet from the shore of the Loch but suddenly drops very steeply off.
While I do not currently have a source to cite on that last "fact" I am looking for one, though.

I know that I'm a bit suspicious of the video. It looks an awful lot like a clip from the Werner Herzog flick, " Incident at Loch Ness".

Take a peek and see what you think.

Real?
Perhaps...
But I get the impression that it's another "blair witch" thing...
(using documentary style footage for something fictional)

Besides, if it was indeed real, would the major news sources have pickec up this story?
But who really knows for sure?

Keep in mind that the video is almost 8 years old, so any excitement from possible news sources and other media is looong gone.

I don't know if any body was really paying attention but watch under the water in that video If ulook closely u can see something larger than an otter or fish.
