The group of men that controls every JW thought and action are called the GOVERNING BODY and claim that they are a prophet of God.
They brainwash their victims to believe that they and they alone are Gods group of people.

I have just found that their beliefs/procedures are so different from any other groups that they tend to alienate themselves. I've known a couple people who have become incompatible with their long time friends after making the transition to JW.

I don't feel that they are bad people. It is just wierd to see their personalities change so quickly.

i dont like em simply because they spew half truths to people who dont know any better.

i think JW are about as close to a "legitimate" cult as you can get. of course using certain paths of logic most would view most or all religions to be a cult in some form or another. but thats for another discussion....

When they do their door to door recruiting /witnessing /harasing whatever you call it, I invite them in act like Im interested then a bring out my water bong pack a fat bowl and give them a peace offering. That never fails to scare them away.

Most religion has at least some good to it, but it is an interesting question of what is a cult and what is a religion?

As with most cults, this is the case. While growing up, one of my best friends was Jehovah's witness. Try telling a kid that he can't have a birthday party, when all his friends are having one...or Christmas...!!! Probably the worst form of child abuse ever....total mental control....

I need to read up more on them though...to see their source...because the Bible claims that the only ones to survive Armageddon are the 144000 righteous virgin males who are descended from the 12 tribes of Isreal. So, how do they recruit women??? (or non-virgin guys for that matter....)

No, Gaz, the Bible does not claim that, but that misconception is what the J.W.'s believe, and they believe that the 144,000 will be comprised of J.W.'s.
In reality, the 144,000, 12,000 per tribe, will be chaste and single men who will be little Jewish Billy Grahams, spreading the Gospel during that time.

I go into a speech about Satan being the true god, and that he shall rise up, and again challenge the throne, and this time, be successful, and that the signs of this success are all around. The Bible is wrong, and is only one side of the story...yadda yadda yadda... Of course it's all bull#, but if you say it passionately enough, you can really give them the willies, and a little pay back for waking you up in the morning, hehe...

No, they simply let thier women and children die because they refuse to allow them blood transfusions and organ transplants. Several cases have been brought into court with Idiot jehovas witnesses allowing thier kids to die from lack of medical attention. They dont believe in it.
They also dont believe in saluting flags, patriotism, military service, income taxes, they do not celebrate ANY holidays, in otherwords, they are about the most paranoid, depressing people youll ever meet in dire need of mental health.

Anyway, this whole 144k virgin male crap is pretty much my point on chriatianity being totally alienating to women. Jehova witnesses carry it to an extreme. This pretty much explains why women are the fastest to leave christianity and for that matter, islam, in large numbers.

I have found the best way to get rid of Jehovas witnesses is to answer the door naked. This also works with Mormons, Avon ladies, and girl scouts selling cookies.

For 3 days a year, more than 10,000 of them come to my town. They have thier yearly event (god knows what it's called) in a football stadium not far from here.

They dress really well, and they always clean up the area before they leave. They are polite and some of the girls are absolute stunners.

But, I can't understand thier philosophy. JoHo's, Mormons and Snake-handlers, I'll never understand how these 3 groups can have such odd beliefs.

How they can let thier kids die, I'll never know. They must be brain-washed. I'd slit my own throat and walk through lava to help my boy, yet they let thier kids die. Bizzare and imho dangerous.

I would say that we look at them the same way as a Christian or Catholic would look at somebody like me...I could care less about the Bible, Pope, and Messiah,, and all that jazz. I don't go to church and dont pray to anybody. So in the same way as we look at them for being "crazy" in their beliefs,,,some others like Catholics look at me and say, "How can he not believe in Jesus and his teachings,,,by golly,,,he's going to Hell!!!" Make more sense?
