I'm surprised no one is talking about the Mexican Elections.

This could have a huge impact on the U.S.

A bit of follow up. Although At this point, I think it is unlikely, this has the potential to devolve into a civil war.

It appears at this point that the conservative party has wone the election, but the leftist leaders are vowing to lead “street protests” if they don’t get what they want (sounds like a tantrum, doesn’t it?)

Any major political instability in Mexico is only going to increase the flood of illegal immigrants, as well as cause more problems with oil production.

Calderon has been announced to have won in the recount, by a margin of .6 percent. Obderan is apparently going to call for his supporters to leave the streets on saturday.

This is highly reminiscent of the 2000 US election. I wonder what would of happend to the North American Union if a "leftist" leader was elected?

Im interested on why you think civil war would occur.
