If everyone in this thread is telling the truth, then we can fairly assume that there is much more to us humans than meets the eye.

Our brains use electricity, so why not other parts of the body?

Hello Zanzibar, (Once again)
Don't want to come across as following you around, you just seem to be at the place that I venture to!!

There are a lot of explanation's and there is a lot of hubbub in this thread, though it does seem coincidental for some poster's as to how many times this has happened to them , there are other alternative explanation's of a more "Earthy" situation.

NOTE: STREET LIGHTS DO TURN OFF BY THEMSELVES
When the fluorescent bulb in a streetlight gets old, it overheats and trips a safety switch. When it cools off, it turns itself back on again. Some streetlights turn on and off by themselves every few minutes. Also, some towns install timers which cause all streetlights to turn off randomly every few minutes. This saves energy, but since the timers are not synchronized, some lights stay on while others are off.
Beware, it's easy to fool yourself into thinking that you have a mysterious effect on streetlights. If you see a streetlight turn on or off, that's not unusual. It happens all the time. It's only unusual if whole chains of street lights turn off in sequence as you pass, or if you see the streetlights only turn off but never see an equal number turn back on. It's also unusual if the streetlights often turn off NOT as you approach or leave, but instead they only turn off while you are passing directly underneath (ie. when you are closest to them.)

I guess they have a title for what you all are experiencing, it is called "StreetLight Interference" or SLI ability. here is the website that i ran across with some amazing stories in it about the Phenomena, quite a lenghty read , but very insightful to the wide spread awareness of this actually taking place.

Interesting read Allred!

I know all too well that street lights can flicker on and off, I've got one a few feet from my window that turns on and off every few hours, bathing my entire room on orange light.

My only issue with the light overheating and shutting off is why a light would be on for 10 minutes, then shut off twice in less than 5 when I went under it, then stay on for over 10 minutes until I was out of sight of it. If a light was overheating that way, you'd expect it to keep overheating and shutting off.

I have read the post's that were made on this thread dealing with the "SLI" probable causes, but I still think it is a very explanable situation. I have delved into it a little harder and found this tid-bit on how movements and circuitries can be interfered with just by passing by something with either a motion detector or a solar operated/motion detection system. Kind of intense reading, very "Clinical" analysis for the example given, there is just no other way to explain the cause and effect's to get to the principle's of what takes place when this event happen's.
It is not that I don't find your statement's strange or untruth's, I just believe there is a logical explanation for the event to occur, even if it is 20+, every time, something is occurring, but I don't think it is anything "SUper-Natural".

I don't think it's anything supernatural either. But I would really like to find out a GOOD explanation as to why that happened. That light had been on steadily for awhile, and was on steadily after I left.

This topic is fascinating. I wonder if it's possible to be so electrically charged to have this effect? Yes, I read the external above about them shutting off. But if it happens continually to the same people....I can see why you might wonder.

I can make a trafic light stay green by stearing at it. If I break eye contact with the light it will turn yellow, then red, but if I keep my eye on it it will stay green everytime!
Now, when I'm out with family, and not driving they will tell me to keep the light green. Weird?? Maybe just a coinsidence.....but I've been doing it for years.......

This has happened to me, also! There is a light at a Real Estate Office, and every time I drive under it, it goes out. Also, sometimes, if I have lots of energy or I'm angry, I can try to turn on a light, and the light bulb pops really loud and goes out!

I too have experienced this effect for years . I could be walking or even in a car ( often when arriving in a parking spot) In my case I have noted that the light comes back on when move past the area. I have even gone as far as to double back on my steps to see if the light goes out again..... in about half the times I've done this , it has gone out again.

I think I may have an implant

that means there was a spirit following you and it sucked energy it must be either fond of you or mad at you.

I have visited this thread before and I have to admit that on my little knowledge venture, I have been most impressed with this topic of "People being able to turn of street lights" called SLI (Street light Interferences) and there is a lot more people affected by this "Energy" (For loss of a better word) but has very intense scientifical backing for the study of it.
So, as for the other individuals that have posted on this thread and have allowed me to explain this topic away, "I apologize." for there is something definately to this strange occurance.
To show that I am supporting the statement's made in this thread by the poster's who have had thier own personal experience's, here's a site that will really get your mind wondering on if it is a "Real Deal" and if there is any logical explanation for this to be happening.

I am an Aquariun and a s.l.i.d.e.r
I will get in line or raise my hand for this one.............

try using s.l.i.d.e.r on your ATS search on this subject it is a vastly covered one......

I had a friend that lived in a house that was very paranormally active. She had a sleep over one time and a girl woke up and saw a dark figure standing over my friend. In the morning everyone said they never got out of bed that night not even her parents. The street light on the corner that her house was on would flicker when ever some one walked out side or looked out one certain window. We had the bulb changed by the city but it still did it up untill the day when her mother walked out side and looked straight at it and said "stop" it doesn't fliker any more.
I'm not saying you should tell your blinky lights to stop but it might work

i dont know whats going on but there is something more than likely following you or trying to get you..

i remember about 8 years ago i was walking home when the lights starting turning off right before i reached them about 5 to 6 foot away from them..4 lights in a row...yeah right..they didnt get hot it was almost as if something wanted it pitch black..??!!

this is all to suspicious...the reason why i say this is because i have seen this strange occurance aswell..i got a spine tingling sensation after watching this happen needless to say i didnt pay it no mind until today...

this place is very intresting..

I have another theory. Is it possible that when you stand on a certain place near the light the the powerline has a short that is trigured by your wait on the ground. That might be why cars trigure it sooner than walkers. This happens to my dad and I all the time.

One thing that could be a major part of this phenomenon is not necessarily just the energies of the individual who walks near or by these street lights but the area in which they are itself. certain mineral formations and energy planes could be conflicting with the electronics of the sensor system, when a human walks by we could be acting as a spark or even as a conductor through our own flow of energies and information through which we connect with the world around us.

Just a thought.

The town I grew up in had light sensors on top of the street lights so they would come on at dusk and turn of when the sun came up in the morning. I always thought that when a light went out, I had somehow reflected the light coming from the street light back to the light sensor, causing the light to turn off. Don't know if it is true, but that is what I told myself. It is a creepy feeling when the light goes off just as you are passing it.
