Hi guys,

I found this article stating that the launch is a hoax. - www.defensetech.org...

"Ten days ago, the New York Times and its sister paper, the International Herald Tribune, ran a pair of breathless stories, warning us that North Korea's long-range Taepodong-2 missile was being fueled for "take off." Worse, the weapon could have the ability to "deliver chemical, biological or perhaps nuclear warheads to targets as far away as the continental United States."

...By the beginning of this week, it became clear that a world-class hoax had gone down. Either Pyongyang had hoodwinked the globe into thinking it was about to launch -- or the Times was once again hyping up a national security threat.

I guess we will only know for sure in a couple days time.

Then why the U-2 flights?

Why the JMSDF Fleet deployments?

Why the Republic of South Korea Fleet deployments?

Why the PAC-3 Patriot deployments?

Why the redeployment of the Abraham Lincoln CSG to the 3rd fleet AOR, which puts it towards Alaska near an intercept track?

Why the public scolding by China, North Korea's best friend?

The NYT intel service wouldn't prompt the spending of this much effort from countries other than the US if it was a hoax, and each of those countries has as good or better intel on North Korea than the US does.

Darksided you forgot the RC-135 flights, and the activation of the Missile Defense systems.

Well, it always helps to be certain. If there is a threat of a launch then the US would definately investigate.

NK loves doing things like this, its a real attention grabber.

Um...Didnt North Korea make official statements that basically confirm they are preparing a launch?

They did, and the story is real.
