So, has anyone here played Area 51? Not the old arcade, but the new FPS by Midway.
A few minor spoilers start around here
Basiclay, a virus breaks loose in the base and a Hazardous Materials tea
goes in to check it out, but they go missing, so they send in another HazMat team to rescue the last one. You play as Ethan Cole, voiced by David
Duchovny, the man who plays Fox Mulder on the X-Files, the team specialist. Before long, you realize this virus is mutating the hosts into monstrous
mutants who live only to eat, kill threats and pass on the virus. And before long, your eam is picked off until you're alone, only to find the lost
team, who are almost immediately destroyed by a gigantic mutant creature, leaving you alone. You are infected with the virus, but you do not become a
monster, you're blood type has a certain trait about it that allows you to activate the virus at will, but at a cost. The virus could completely take
over you at any point that you turn it on. Soon, you discover a deep, dark, evil secret: The Illuminati and Greys are working in conjunction to relese
the virus on Earth, and develop a monster to use as weponry against the human populace so as to take over the world. You as the only survivor this
deep in Area 51 must stop it yourself while keeping the virus under control.
End minor spoilers
Beating the game unlocks the hard mode. I'm working on hard now, but it's a great game. Throught the game, you can collect secret videos between the
Illuminati/NSA's consultant to the Greys and the Nazi doctor brought here by Paperclip who created the virus and worked on the technology of the
Greys. There are also secrets to be found lying in folders, PDAs and blueprints that give the conspiracy view of something, such as Bush being in the
Illuminati, 1969 moon landing was a hoax, Philadalphia Exp., HAARP being a mind control (specificaly Animal mind control), and other things.
overall, the game deserves a 4/5 if you ask me, the only downfalls to it are the fact there only 6 weapons, you can dual wield only two of the same
type and have no control over when you can if you pick it up accidentaly, and there are a few graphics mistakes, but besides that, the graphics are
great, the storyline is awesome, and the sound is great. A definately must have for skeptics and believers alike!
