Can anyone tell me of the effects this game has had in the US in the current climate for terrorism scares? I saw this game mentioned in a newspaper here in the UK today.

www.thesun.co.uk...

Heres a link explaining the game itself.

crystaltips.typepad.com...

Personally i think they are going over the top a bit with the "terror" link to this, so long as the water pistols are obviously just that. The difficulty comes when you get people with replicas doing this, now thats just asking to be shot in my opinion.

Is this very popular in te US then?

popular in the US, no not really, we're flooded with real guns.

Doesn't mean we don't enjoy a good Super Soaker battle, personally I don't see what the big deal is, I mean if its a water gun so what, if someone gets shot by a real gun well then I suppose it's time for local law enforcement to mount up.

Actually after reading the second link, I think I wanna play lol.

but which gun?

Attacking strangers with anything is terrorism. It's certainly assault to fire on anyone with anything at all or throw things at them etc, I'm trying to get a total **** done right now for trying to attack me in some similar way.

Water-pistol fights etc are fine - cause you have them with your friends or in some organised way with actual participants like laserquest or paintball, but The Sun is bang on the money there. Those people are idiots who clearly don't have friends, so they have to try to make total strangers to them lives a misery.

That's why I oft think the whole Big Brother Spying some folks say happens in London is total bs - the cops should be arresting them already for even considering bringing in some random people into their stupid infantile need for attention.

Er no, 'someone' has a case of not understanding that just because they want to annoy other people for kicks that is because they are selfish uncaring and have massive huge social problems that seek to lump their conditions onto other healthy people who manage to live life without the need to annoy anyone else.

Don't try and wrap it up in fun. It's just sad and it's about bothering other people, it's negative emotionally.

Did you get sprayed?

What's your process for screening out overzealous freaks?

A: You must pick up your assassination packages in person and your ID is checked. Keep in mind, we have ALL the contact information for people, it is very easy to report them to the police if things get out of hand. That said, we have never had any problems with any of our players. THAT said, there is always a chance there will be a first time and you play at your own risk.

from CX's link

It's not like their target doesn't know its going on, lol don't get so emotional.

If you are successful in your assassination attempt, the person you killed will give you their envelope and the person they were supposed to kill becomes your new target.

Not really strangers then, and I love how you associated this with terrorism, hahahaha.

That ain't what the newspaper says.

It's obvious that it doesn't say that from what I wrote.

As for 'don't get emotional' - that is just an insult too. Since when are humans not allowed to have emotions?! What species are you then?

It's obvious that anyone who is knowingly signed up for some game is not a stranger then are they? So that would be a game like laserquest ect, like I mentioned. As in no-one is involved who is not aware of it beforehand and has agreed to participate. So then that's fine, there's no attacking random people involved there. And it's therefore nothing like the gangs of morons that attack people here, whom I was refering to getting charged with assault.

Since the stories vary so widely it'd be worth sending the real game rules to the newspaper then, since they must have recieved the wrong game description.
