Toronto Star

When emergencies strike, Canadians dial 911.

But in countries racked by crisis, such a call for help — by civilians or government officials — is out of the question. So conflicts escalate, wounded and traumatized people go untreated and the survivors wait agonizing weeks or months for aid and shelter, as happened in strife-torn Darfur.

This week, a group of academics, former officials and security experts are tabling a proposal they hope will change that by creating an international rapid reaction force that could be deployed within 48 hours of a green light from the United Nations.

Composed of up to 15,000 military, police and civilian staff, including medics and conflict transformation experts, it would be recruited from professionals hired by the UN from many countries, and based at designated UN sites. Its actions would be authorized by the UN Security Council.

"It's not a new idea, but it has now come into its own," says Peter Langille of University of Western Ontario, an expert in conflict resolution, and one of the major contributors to the book entitled, A United Nations Emergency Peace Service: To Prevent Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity, which will be presented tomorrow at the UN.

"With countries moving away from UN peacekeeping, and troops overstretched in countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, (the rapid reaction force) has new appeal."

Well, well, well.

If it isn't ONE WORLD ARMY forming before our very eyes.

I am sure this new "UN Army" will be effective - just like how UN troops in Srebrenica, Bosnia, or many Sex-Scandals in Africa.

But I guess the Global Elite is using their major influence and pulling strings through the UN to create a One World Army - so let me guess the next few steps;

One World Bank.

One World Goverment.

One World Religion.

One World Order.

You reckon? I see it as the United Nations establishing a power base that enables it to help even more countrys in need. And 15, 000 people is pretty damn small, hardly enough to take over the world and surpress all free thought in the near future.

But I do see where you're coming from. This could be the first step in esablishing a one-world army, huh? But that is the purpose of United Nations! Ever since they started, they have been trying to get the worlds governments to co-operate on a whole range of things. This army isn't the first step, the first step was taken in 1945.

They Should Call It UNATCO

My opinion: the UN wants to hire mercenaries to enforce UN policy.

I don't support that.

It is inevitable to have a one world goverment and army...especially if we come in contact with alien civilizations.

Would we still insist on conspiracies then?

Or maybe it's a honest try at helping people and saving lives? Sometimes although not often what something appears to be is exactly what it is. The UN is supposed to promote international cooperation and peace. Granted it hasn't always been successful. I don't read it as an attempt to take over but rather as an attempt to get aid to people who need it the most. How about we watch with open minds and see what they actually accomplish.

i think the 'Force' is attached to/ or springs from, the newest arm of the UN
....the UN Peacebuilding Commission

[since the UN Security Council is always hopelessly deadlocked by Vetos]
i'd keep an eye on this 'flanking action' by the PTB to wrest power away from
the the 'core' of the old UN & the peacekeeping & security council seats of power

This is just a beginning if you ask me.

I think it just might be what mister Majic said: they want to enforce the Mercenary policy - and we all know where that ends.

But I do see where you're coming from. This could be the first step in esablishing a one-world army, huh? But that is the purpose of United Nations! Well I wanted to present United Nations in a different light, from which we all are "supposed" to know:

Who do you think financed the World Wars? - Who do you think created the United Nations?

"The FIRST chairman of an influencial but almost unknown organization established in 1910 was also a member of the Order. In 1920 Theodore Marburg founded the American Society for the Judicial Settlement of International Disputes, but Marburg was only the President. The FIRST Chairman was member William Howard Taft. (1878 Initiated into Skull and Bones). (Taft's father Alfonso Taft was one of the two original founders of Skull and Bones in 1832). The Society was the forerunner to the League to Enforce the Peace, which developed into the League of Nations concept and ultimately into the United Nations." ..."In United Nations we find, for example, that Archibald McLeash (Initiated into Skull and Bones in 1915) was the brains behind the UNESCO organization."

The FREEMASONS have been trying to create a One-World Government for a very long time. Even going back as recently in history as 1917, they attempted to create an international congress of Unified Nations. This is NOT a recent plan. That is what must be understood. Centralization of control is always sought by people exercising control. The Secret Societies under the control of Freemasonry have worked long and hard for their plans and are not about to give up. We are in the New World Order, where LINES and BORDERS are being chipped away in favor of GLOBALIZATION and TRADE BARRIERS are slowly coming down as well. This Economic hegenomy is meant to create an ARTIFICIAL DEPENDENCE of one Nation upon another. This will ultimately lead to a domino effect if the boat is rocked at all, thus causing econimic emergencies of a global proportion which it will be claimed only the United Nations can or will be permitted to solve.

A UN Army....that's a good laugh.

The UN is too impotent to really do much of anything effectively.

I guess they could make a UN Army. I personally will NEVER support the UN in a bid to take over America, England, Australia or any free nation. If a nation asks for help okay (et all - Africa and the middle east) fine and dandy. But if they try coming into my state with their little blue helmets there would be hell to pay. I for one (there are many) will fight till I die to oppose that issue. I hope it never comes to that but it's not looking to good right now.

A United Nations Army? I agree with what Souljah said about it being the beginning of a New World Order. Of course they're going to want a One World Army. I don't like it. Sure it's meant to sound good, it always is.

The UN army's main job will be to go in and beat the crap out of anybody that does not bow down before the munificence of the UN itself. They are the first wave of internationalist enforcers devoid of any nationalist sentiment.

A UN Army? Are we being introduced with the New World Order? Alot of people criticise Bill Cooper but I think (at least for this) he was right. This is the scenario he talked about in early 90-s. I think the power that be is shaping the masses for the New Order
IT SUCKS !!!

but....but...but...we're the world's peacekeepers...the US!!!

they really have nerve replacing us!! next thing you know they will be sending their tanks, their ships, their planes and troops over here threatening to annihilate us unless we turn over our top gov't leaders to face warcrime charges.

where's all the danged gratitude for all this peace we're keeping for yous to enjoy!!

ungrateful slobs, we should nuke them all....

yes, I'm only kidding here, for the most part...but there's a few points hidden in my rant...

one, maybe the UN has finally decided that the US shouldn't be relied on to be their main "peacekeeping force"?

or the only superpower, the leading economic force, ect...
seems to me, the stage is being set to replace us as set.

and well,

there's a reason that I keep saying their coming for bush and his fellow war criminals. ya, I know you all laugh at the thought. but, if these guys have black or dark blue uniforms with gold strips down their pantlegs, well, my bet is that they will one day be here in the US, charging our leaders with warcrimes, while roaming the streets trying to "keep the peace". it might not be the bush administration, but well, I think it will happen.

A one world UN army while distrubing in its implications of later one world government, economies etc.............at this time is not too intimidating of a development......

Simply because as long as soverign states continue to hold nuclear arsenals then those conventional armies don't represent much of a big stick.......

However..........if in the name of nuclear disarmament and "world peace" the UN gets around to ascertaining the stockpiles of these weapons from countries then the games over.............

Throw out the constitution and our soveignty and welcome to Orwellian centralized abusive power for the "good of the world"..........

For now..........if we keep the nukes we keep them in check.......

Just to play devil's advocate for a second...What is soo bad about a United nations military force? I mean, would you rather have sovereign nations running around will nilly at their leader's command, like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, or Bush?

I don't understand it. In one breath people want to crucify leaders/nations for their actions, then when a logical plan is introduced that would have multi-national input and support, then that is criticized as well.

If sovereign nations can not be trusted to act in the people's interest, and if one world government is not the solution, then what is?
