Hi,

Now this craft appeared over my house out of all days my birthday last year. It made some weird bobbing movements, it sported green blue yellow lights. It also seemed to be probing with this incandescent looking light. Ufonorthwest.com the site checked in and phoned the radar operators down here. Turned out to indeed be an unknown craft of this vicinity. Extraterrestrials, I'm hopeful however there is an air force near here which I speculate a craft like this one may have originated.

Could you post some more info regarding these images, such as: Location, time of day, what type of camera was used, did it make any sounds, etc.

Also, the Ufonorthwest.com website is down currently, are you sure that is the correct name?

Flux,

I just did a google search on h$$p://www.ufonorthwest.com/ and google has no record of that site.

Could it be that you got the name of the website mixed up?

Wierd.
These look like video captures, but have exif camera headers, and it looks genuine. I'm not familiar with this camera model, but should video frames have exif data?

The exif data for these images looks like this:

Camera make : SONY
Camera model : DCR-TRV27
Date/Time : 2005:05:05 21:35:22
Resolution : 640 x 480

but the DCR-TRV27 headers, as far as I can tell, should look like this:

Camera make : SONY
Camera model : DCR-TRV27
Date/Time : 2002:09:25 16:35:29
Resolution : 640 x 480
Flash used : No
Focal length : 3.3mm
Exposure time: 0.017 s (1/60)
Aperture : f/1.8
Exposure : program (auto)

There seems to be some data missing.

There's not enough information in these pictures to tell what they are images of; maybe Schizoflux will post the original video, if that's what it is, but then, there may not be enough data there to tell anything.

Not sure why my edit didn't work. So here is what I tried to edit in.

Not trusting Google lately I tried Ask.com and Webcrawler and still got no hits searching for the website.

There are many people here who may be able to explain what you have seen but they will need more info. See Xenophobe's post above

this could be the site he was talking about.

I don't see anything about his ufo on there, maybe it takes some time for sightings to be processed and updated to the site.

But those pictures seem to be legit. It's nice to finally have a good case here.

Good job enthuziazm.

That has to be the right site. They may not post immediately. NUFORC sometimes takes a long time (weeks) to post to the site, although that might not be the same for all sites. I'm not sure, they're the only ufo reporting site I frequent.

The opening post does say "last year". Until more detail is known from the poster, there's no way of knowing what/where/when the pics were taken.

Anyone here do an analysis on the photos?

Rand, did you get that data by looking at the file header in a text editor, or is there some utility avaliable to display the file header.

I took the top image..and the 4th image down from it into photoshop.

to answer your question Xenophobe..the exif data can be viewed inside photohop. it's a meta tag left from the camera or whatever originated the photo/video.

I brightened the photo's and zoomed in 2.5x. (250% image size increase).

I notices 2 balls of light on top of both ufo's so I traced them in red. The red line seperates the zoomed image from the marked up one.

I also notice the shape of the ufo. it's kind of an oval shape, almost like a saucer viewed from the side. The lights are obviously very bright.

The first image has 2 blue lights and a green/yellow one on the far right visible.

The fourth image has one blue light and one green light visible.

The changing of the order of lights could have been caused by blinking..or spinning maybe.

Using the date that Rand found in the exif data, and the website that Enthuziazm found,
I was able to find:

(drumroll please!)

bravo xenophobe
*claps*

that report proved to be well worth the effort.

I wonder if anyone saw this same object.

Well ignoring the witness statement, that could be the double tail of a regular aircraft (such as the F18). Zoomed in all sorts of distortion could occur to account for the brighter upper spots (which the F18 has, but they are small bumps). The plane would be coming towards the camera at a slight upwards angle.

But since the movement doesnt match that, that's highly unlikely.

Btw is it just me that see a space wasp on that picture???

I use jhead
freshmeat.net...
but there are perl modules
search.cpan.org...
search.cpan.org...
which will do the same thing. I'm sure there must be windows apps which will hack the headers. Also, since I'm a Linux weenie, my file browser (and almost of the graphics editors and viewers) will show me most of the exif data with 'File->Properties'. Then there's the always-handy hex editor

Actually, I'm leaning toward a car backing out from amongst some trees.

Here's where it happened within a block or two.

The report doesn't mention that the witness lives just south of the approach vector for the local airport or how close (3 miles from the end of the runway) they live to Warrin Robbins AFB. Funny how that sort of info gets left out.

There are indeed alot of trees there, but the surroundings are completely pitch black. I mean you'd think there would be some sort of variation if the object is on the ground among a bunch of trees, even in the middle of the night.

With a base/airport that close an airplane is very likely...

Oh shizz, Windows Xp does that too, never thought to look there. It's under Properties ->Summary.

Good Grief, you're right, XP does do it. The video's dated 05-05-2005 but according to the report filed, the sighting was on the 4th at 9:15pm. Something fishy or am I reading something wrong?

Oh, I dunno, I wouldn't be too suspicious of that. Maybe that date on the camera was off due to a change in daylight savings time.

I don't even bother to set the dates on my gadgets anymore, too lazy I guess.
