He has been given the title antichrist for 2 reasons. The first being the refference to many false christs during the tribulation. Second both daniel and revelation refer to him declaring himself a god and boasting and saying things against the one true God. Antichrist is simply a title give to the son of perdition as he is reffered to in several instances. Yes I too wish for peace, but true peace and not the false peace offered by this man. Which I believe we will only see once Jesus makes his return.

Judging from the word antichrist he or they may be a wide variety of things. John speaks of antichrists in plural and general. Antichrist is not mentioned in the Bible as being THE Antichrist, but rather the name of a person who denies Jesus existance. John is the only person to use "antichristos" in his epistles, and here he says that a person is an antichrist who denies that Jesus came in the flesh. In other words, antichristos is not a person but what you become when you deny that Jesus was a man of flesh and blood. There is a misconseption that "antichristos" is a person, he is not, for he is any man or woman who rejects Christ as a historical person.

3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for [the day of the Lord] will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

5 Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?

6 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he may be revealed.

7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

8 And then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;

17 and he provides that no one should be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. Revelation 13:14-17

What you choose to call him is irrelevant; call him "the anti-christ"; "the beast"; "the son of perdition" or just "the enemy", what matters is not what you call him but who and what he is.

John calls a man who rejects Christ for an antichrist in general. The Book of Revelations tell us about the world system with a secular empire with emperors or Kaizers/Cæsars (the beast) and a religious elite, the concept of the religious Father on earth being a priest or a pope (the false prophet) and discribes how people are led astray because of these world powers. Your enemy as a Christian is your king or your priest, for he force you into doing things the Gospel rejects as ungodly. We should live like collectives with compassion and knowledge to make science in order to bring us back to God, but the reality leaves us with nothing as the world is agnostic.
