I work surrounded by technology. I go home and am surrounded by technology.

I'm a tech-head and have PDA, (no fancy phone yet but when this one dies I'm getting a web-enabled one), laptop, 8 or 9 computers, networked home and printer, own (and use) two GPSs (one for a laptop), two or three types of scanners and several digital cameras and digital recorders....

Sheesh. I'm getting tired of listing the stuff.

I don't see that owning a computer for gaming is terribly techy. I do hardware and software support for a living... so I can/have programmed and all that nonsense.

...and I can still do command line DOS and command line Unix when I need to.

I'm three weeks away from my computer systems/networks degree, then starting my programming degree. I guess that's advanced technology.

My systems are all Windows because that's what we're running at work and I don't feel like doing the tweak-and-crash routine to get stuff that runs here at work to run on a *nix box. I take a lot of work home and it's much easier to work with the same tools I have at work.

Also do photo editing and other fun things, too... still Windows.

The PDA, however, is Palm OS. I like it better than the Windows for PDA OS.

My job is actually software training and support of the company's custom software. It's used to run businesses, from mom and pop stores, to multi-chain national ones...

Next hi-tech purchase will be a dvd player for the van...
