Over on Fark, one of the posters put up a link to
a collection of photos photos developed
by his grandfather, who served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations during WWII on the island of Tinian.
What's particularly great about some of these old shots are original, personal photos taken of the mushroom cloud over Nagasaki, pictures taken from
fallen Japanese soldiers, a formerly classified Korean concentration camp, and some great shots of not only B-29s, but their nose art.
It's a great thing to take a look at on Memorial Day - and a cool flashback to the weaponry and sites of WWII (making it appropriate for this
thread).
