Reinstate the Draft!

Unless I am mistaken nobody posting here is writing their posts on their laptop while sitting in the Iraqi sun. So who are we to whine about the hardship of war?

That can only be politically motivated IMHO.

Regarding the war itself it is important for the future health of the US and much of the first world. Furthermore, the arab world has been asking for this for sometime.

I am not on a laptop sitting in the Irqai sun but I was there during the Gulf war so if anything I do know what it is like to be over there eating sand in every meal.

That would totally be against our rights. People who join our armed forces know that there might be a chance of them going to war. They are aware of the danger that could be ahead of them, but the average American is not. Nobody has the right to tell us we have to go to war if we dont want to.

Also why would we want uneducated people fighting for us. People that dont know how to fire weapons or infiltrate foreign bases will do us no good.

I had a great time and there were no blanket parties because I was never a suck up kiss-ass Uncle Tom like you.

(The only problem I had was swimming witha weapon. Just couldn't swing that one.)

In the end, I CHOSE not to join becuase I felt that I couild do better onmy own than witha career with the Army---after which I received several letters and phone calls (like some star athlete) asking me to return but I said no.

Absaloutely agree with National Service.
Apart from the likes of Bush not so keen to send his daughters off to get shot at with RPGs it would sort out the parasites living off benefits and give them some self respect.

colonel is a bit delusional here. apparently he believes that blacks are being forced into joining the military (they arent) and that only blacks are being to iraq (the majority of soldiers ive seen are white, go figure!)

This is about stopping these rabid repugnants from starting wars all over theplanet and treating soldiers (of all colors) as toys in their RISK game. If it is THEIR children that have to go die from an RPG, they may think twice.

I think every clear thinking soldier can agree with that. But, you're a repugnant so I don't expect you to think. I expect you to say whatever the repugnant leadership tells you to think.

The Draft would be a bad thing,if it were to be implemented,it would only serve to signal that the Iraq fiasco is spiraling out of control.
By the way,there is a story out there right now which states that there are many troops in georgia awaiting medical attention,but there is a shortage of medical personnel,there is legislation out there right now to draft medical personnel only,it is farther along than the draft legislation which was mentioned in the beginning of this thread.

The real troop source for the war machine is manipulation of the economy,when there are so few jobs out there that the only place to turn is military service,many will enlist.
This will work as it always has unless something happens akin to sep 11 01,then the fear mongers and silly unknowledgable sheeples will be screaming "let's get em" and send their kids off to war without thinking.
