I've been pondering something for a few weeks now, and I still can't come up with a theory of what it would be like, how it would be done and so on, so I of course I come to ATS for an answer.

Question: Once you get out of body through whatever means, how would one be able to meditate in soul-perspective? Could one meditate in soul-perspective? Do you think anything might happen if you tried to meditate while being out of body?

Ok, this turned into a 3 ways question

I thought people mediatate to get out of body? I imagine it takes a long time to get that way since chemicals is the only way by far that I have achieved any type of real progress.

In deep meditation I could only say it is as if you are out of body anyway or have a direct link to something higher depnding on your goals and thought process going in.

I've gotten two impressions from what people tell about their experience with OOBEs.

1. You can still feel your physical self breathing and meditating.
2. You transfere complete awareness to your soul, meaning you don't feel the physical world with your physical body.

If '2' is true, then my question still stands, as if you imagine sitting in lotus in the physical world then leaving your body. As soon as you've left your body, your soul would sit down in a lotus, and close its astral eyes, and begin to seek for something beyond the astral, like a third world.

I mean, my theory would be if you have awareness in the physical world, and you are able to pass onto the next world by using meditation as a tool. Then woulden't it make A LITTLE sense to actually be able to pass on further if you still had awareness in the astral world? This is of course only possible if '2' is true, I guess.

Interesting questions.
I think it is quite possible to meditate in the astral and connect to a level beyond.
If one can bypass the physical senses while in a state of deep meditation, then one may also be able to subdue and bypass the perception of the astral environment to a similar level.

The astral can be looked apon as a far more subtle and malleable dimension that co-exists with the concrete physical dimension.
Both the physical and the astral can be considered illusionary dimensions.

A physical body is required to manifest/express in the physical, just as an astral body is required to manifest/express in the astral.
The conciousness/spirit/being still exists with or without these bodies/garments.

Many people during meditation whilst in the physical may be going beyond the astral from this very level to their true spiritual realm of origin.

Mhm, yes... I wonder though if this was actually true, what the third dimension would be like.

I can't really picture it.

Perhaps this dimension beyond the astral would be any formless, limitless abyss which knows no boundaries?

The Causal, or sixth dimension, is the next highest dimension after the Astral or fifth dimension. In contrast to Astral Projection where you must concentrate on one thing to project consciously, to get to the Causal consciously requires you to split from your body at a time when you are completely void of any thought.

I have no personal experience of going to the Causal from the Astral, nor have I ever read about the possibility. It is certainly something worth trying though, as direct experience is obviously the only way we can get any answers about this. My intuition tells me that if we meditate in the Astral it will simply clear up any subconscious dream imagery that may still be left, making your projection much more objective.
