omg, I just pilthed through every forum I could find pretaining about this eric julian character..man, I decided its not the bs story that angers me...(the whole story is bs for, those who don't know) but, its the people who believe it, and leave town..it really saddens me to imagine an average working joe with a family to support, jumping ship and heading for the hills just cause someone claims that the world is going to end...this is epidiemy of taking the "beleiver" stance of things to outragous levels.

There has been an impact at approximate latitude: 39° 02', North. longitude: 94° 33' West

Impact was a large brown object.
Splashdown occurred at 19:15 CST.
Estimated energy: 1.7 KT.
No casualties reported.
Possible ceramic damage.
It smells really bad.

Maybe it has something to do with the quakes in Indeonesia?

The message was for north west pacific and south china sea.
So Im sure thats what its about.

Magnitude 6 quakes do no cause tsunami's of any size. (if they do generate one
they are only detectable by buoys and other measuring devices.) If there is a risk of one it would have to be a mag 7 or greater, or something else entirely.

In fact, if the Toba super-volcano erupts, were cooked. We'll return to the ice age. And the two last earthquakes in this region, december 2004, 9.3, the last one, 8.7, the next one may be the last one before the end of humanity...

Thanks chestnut I dont know much about seizmology i just remembered hearing about the quake that just happened and thought the timing may have been a factor..I didnt know The size that one would have to be to trigger a tsunami.

If there are any human-life threatening objects flying toward Earth, it would be world-wide news. I wouldn't believe anything about the End if the only place I saw it was ATS.

Well, chalk this up for another skeptic win. I mean really, asteroids? Everybody is entitled to their own beliefs, but any of us could have gotten hold of someone with a powerful enough telescope to check it out if we wanted. Maybe not any of us, but there are some people here who definitely could have, I think. Wasn't it the MidWest US group that had the get-together with the telescope?

At least it didn't happen, eating Nike tennis shoes would have not been fun for doubting this.
