When watching international sporting events, I have noticed a difference in crowds when they jeer in a match - towards a referee or a referee's decision. I noticed that all Europeans and South and Central Americans will whistle, while Americans, Australians, and the English prefer to use the booooooooo method. Does anyone know how these differences originated?
